The character is an power-hungry egomaniac, he probably bought the rights to TED and build his own facility just for this talk. In the real world, you wouldn't see the likes of Exxon execs giving talks at TED.

That trailer, once the build-up is over, makes it look great. I want to see this one in the cinema.

If you ask nicely maybe they'll change the theatre's FOV for you.

FFS, it's not even the same type of media. That's like asking to change your book's FoV. If it doesn't bother you, pat yourself on the back and give yourself a lolly.

Perhaps someone could manufacture a set of glasses that adjusts the FOV for you...one for books, one for reading magazines on the shitter, etc. It'd make millions.

About a minute's worth of footage of the Prometheus spaceship landing. Looks pretty neat:

Will there be much difference between the 3D version and the IMAX 3D version?

well IMAX is supposed to be a huge screen, but it seems that any backwoods theater these days can call itself an IMAX theater so , prolly not.

Oh dear. People who have just come back from seeing the movie are not giving it great scores. Apparently:

It created more questions than it answered.
Lack of suspense.
Stuck too closely to the character archetypes created in Alien.
One dimensional characters.
Some really dodgy writing and more than a few plot holes.
and that the 3D is hardly used and therefore useless.

I was excite but now I'm disappoint.

bah, you could guess all that (except the 3D part) from the trailer, the speed of production and the fact that they brought in a writer from 'Lost' :(
it's bound to be half-assed and disappointing, and there's no way i'm going to see it *.

* i am still going to see it.
