infinitely
You know what's happened there? A load of people have confused the word "infinitely" with the word "immensely".

that sucks so hard. the comments on that story are pretty dumb though. i hadn't seen or heard about this particular incident (i'm sure the IOC is trying to shut it up), but i've seen a good deal of fencing on some of the digital channels (NBCSports, MSNBC, etc). much as i like the *idea* of fencing it's really boring to watch live. they both stand there twitching until they poke each other simultaneously and then shout and fist-pump as though something interesting had happened... then some guy arbitrarily gives one or the other a point in French.

An American acquaintance of mine described the American media coverage of the Olympics as "one big circle jerk".

Oh, anyone seen the racewalking thing? It's an olympic disgrace. The rules state that each participant has to have one foot on the ground at all times, but a simple slow motion recording of a race shows that every walker (no exceptions) breaks this rule on every step they take. Sometimes walkers are penalized for not walking properly and are disqualified from the race, but this appears to be a completely random process. I do not understand how such a display of fraud can be part of the Olympics.

You know what is funny, that America makes a big deal out of this olympics...

Since when did they do that

I have not seen more pomp over here for the olympics before...

Is it because it is taking place in England?

lol define flat.

but they'll still disqualify you for whatever the fuck.

i wonder how far you could get if you have one tippietoe on one foot and flat on the other and then you switch and then basically you propell yourself forward leaving one foot on the ground dragging ass.

they should just have the fastest race without picking up any feet 100% off the ground ever.
