14 days without food.
Re: 14 days without food.
good luck man, its tough but its all in what you put in. change ya normal diet and reap the rewards... it sucks that as you grow older you cannot eat what you want and stay thin, but thats mortality for ya. garbage in, garbage out. as they say. you can do it, good luck sir
Re: 14 days without food.
I plan on working out lightly while I'm on this juice diet. Frankly after starting it even the juices themselves are pretty grainy so it's not strictly juice that I'm drinking, there is a bit of fiber in there as well. As for those talking about starvation keep in mind each drink takes more fruit and veggies to make than you'd eat in an entire day if you ate 3 balanced meals and I gotta admit, despite my juices being made out of beets and Kale and other veggies I wouldn't normally eat they taste kinda good! Today is the first day where I won't be eating at all so we'll see how optimistic I am towards the end. I've heard more than a few individuals who've done this say the first 3 - 4 days can be pretty rough.

The first week of going back to strict paleo is hard and I have no doubt it'll be the same for you. Plenty of water and keep out if temptations way. Also keep yourself busy as when you start thinking about food, that's when the hunger strikes and you buckle
Re: 14 days without food.
I don't think it is. I had my first real "I'm hungry" moment about 45 minutes ago and I'm drinking the juice I brought to work for myself and it's gone away.
Juice consists of
Kale
Celery
cucumber
lemon
apples
ginger
It's not bad.

Re: 14 days without food.
lol already been there. It was dark as hell, next pee was completely clear.
Bananas
oranges
peaches
grapes
is next, definitely looks more delicious. I'm also drinking LOTS of water in between these juices.
The only real bummer about this so far is the amount of food required to make a single serving. I suspect this may cause my grocery bill to go up slightly but my fridge now looks like a vegans wet dream.

Too much fucking fruit man, too much sugar is bad no matter the source.
Re: 14 days without food.
The best Kracus can hope for is to get a little closer to being a skinny-fat moron.
Thick, solid and tight in all the right places.
Re: 14 days without food.
I had beet juice earlier and I mostly drink the kale drink as a staple. But yeah I'm gonna lay off making fruit only drinks.

uncooked kale in unusually high quantities (read: kale drinks) leads to hypothyroidism and may cause thyroid goiters
I love quake!
Re: 14 days without food.
krakus do you have a dog? Why don't you just eat normal and take it for a hike in the woods and do some body weight exercises?
Or keep doing some crazy diet, that's cool too.

You read that article incorrectly, that's if you already HAVE hypothyroidism to begin with.
Re: 14 days without food.
You stopped smoking a while ago, smoking is an appetite suppressant, maybe you've been eating more?
Try drinking more water, that can suppress appetite.

I do eat normally, as I've mentioned my normal diet is pretty good. I'm not eating fast food everyday or junk, I typically eat meat and potatoes with the odd sandwich now and then. Last time I felt overweight I did work out to lose the weight and that worked great except when I started working out I wasn't as easily winded and I was more flexible. At 201 lbs I get winded just walking up 3 flights of stairs and I need to lose weight first before working out.
I'm doing this to get in the habit of eating more veggies and also to work out once the weight is lost. I feel like I'll be more motivated to keep going if I see decent gains as opposed to changing my diet and waiting 6 months to lose 15 pounds.
I weighed myself this morning and I currently weigh 194.7 lbs and I was fully dressed with my hiking boots on that are quite heavy.
I weighed myself at the start of the year and I was 201.8. I cut out energy drinks and sodas on the 1st and started doing this diet on the 10th so I'm quite happy with the progress so far.
I have really strong cravings for food though once in awhile but overall it isn't bad, I'm not hungry most of the time and I feel full and satisfied otherwise but I'm definitely seeing an increase in energy and a huge loss around my gut. Also my skin color seems to have changed slightly.
Re: 14 days without food.
I'm 99% convinced the energy drinks and sodas were responsible for my weight gain. As soon as I cut those out I started losing weight, the juicing is just a way to speed up the process and get used to eating more veggies and fruits on a regular basis. I've never craved eating an apple before but suddenly I find myself feeling like I'd enjoy eating an apple. I'm hoping that doesn't go away when I'm done doing this and perhaps create a healthier eating habit for myself.DTS wrote:You stopped smoking a while ago, smoking is an appetite suppressant, maybe you've been eating more?
