Actually, Facebook pictures are never protected in anyway. If you have the link, everyone can see it, even if your privacy settings are set to private. The only thing that "private" does in regards to pictures on Facebook is that Facebook itself won't show them to other people through their site.

Having said that, if you have a picture on Facebook that's set to private (as in visible for your account only) then there should be no way for anyone to figure out the URL to that picture. If the picture is shared with friends and one of those friends posts the URL to the picture on Q3W, then anyone visiting Q3W can see it.

I'm as entertained by bashing gramps as the next guy, but posting pictures of his kids goes a little fucking far...

Would be fair game if gramps had posted it first here, not so much if the pic in question was obtained through internet detectivery.

He's posted pics of his kid countless times, even so I shopped his kid out and replaced him with Cruella. What's really funny though is how Gramps thinks it's all been done through some kind of Facebook hacking when the reality is the dipshit has a completely open profile. Any person on the planet with a Facebook account can access his pics.

yeah Im sorry Brian but your FB profile is fully open. I can access all your photos, life events, activity and posts by just going to Facebook.com. Nothing fancy like using the graph api or whatnot.

Gwamps is about as bright as peat moss. I can't wait for him to come back and insist that his settings were private or that somehow he didn't have things wrong.

More likely though he'll go into hiding for a bit (in some bushes with his camera no doubt).

OK, now you're just being mean Puff. Do you seriously believe it is more likely that a man of Gramps' intellect [not to mention head circumference] could possibly have misconfigured, what is by all accounts, an exceedingly obscured panel of privacy settings .. rather than FB's Gibson being hacked by one of the many hacks that are out there [many of them free]? Pfft, AS IF.

Well it does appear that there were a few things available on my FB page, one being the pic LawL lifted. I'm completely familiar with FB security. However, I did become aware today of a few nuances that may help you avoid the prying eyes of no-life stalkers.

1. Even if your pictures are stored in an album that has a security setting (friends/select group/etc) if your security setting isn't set correctly for that individual picture it could possibly be seen. (I guess a few photos taken and posted with my phone didn't have the correct setting)
2. No matter what security setting you choose FB changes that setting to public when you make the pic a "profile photo". That setting has to be manually set back to the previous security setting on the picture in your profile picture album. And that can only be done if the picture is not your current profile pic.
3. Pictures that are used for cover photos also become and stay public. That status can not be changed for any of the photos in your cover photo album.

Needless to say I made few changes... Sorry to take away your fap material, weirdos.
