It kind of is though. You hate touchwiz, so you can't like any other OEMS interface because they are all copies of touchwiz in a way. And the only OEM not doing that is Motorola. If you're putting **G0Ku420**s ROM from XDA on your device its either an asop ROM or some ridiculous tart ROM and I have a feeling its not the last.

And even CM isn't asop anymore. Which I find hilarious .

What's your issue with custom ROMs? Custom ROMs from XDA and Modaco etc have brought way more life and bug fixes to loads of phones than the manufacturers have. As I mentioned earlier the latest official update for my phone was ICS but there's tonnes of Jellybean/KitKat builds out there for it, and they're all far faster than the stock one.

Most nightly/beta ROMs are stable anyway in that they're not going to crash every five minutes, and if there is a problem chances are it'll be fixed pretty quick. Or just take a backup with ClockworkMod before updating and if it bricks your phone it takes 5 minutes to revert it.

My "beef" with custom ROMs comes from 2 places.

1) its 2014. Very few devices need major fixes. Obviously some ZTE piece of shit from Mongolia is going to be a shitfest but ya. Roms used to make sense because OEMS didn't update devices and if they did they took forever. It was understandable in the gingerbread era but in the jb/kk era its nearly pointless. Plus most major devices have gpe now. Well devices that matter anyways. So you can get away from the OEM madness but keep the superior hardware.

2. Working in wireless. Every fucking phone ever that had issues had a tripped flash counter or the idiot came in with some gonzo ROM on it and wondered why gps didn't work. XDA has a few decent slivers of content but the bulk of the ROMs there are a joke. Again its 2014 and new devices can be "stripped" without fucking with the ROM itself. Hell even root is nearly useless unless your device Dont support foxfi and you want to abuse your unlimited data. I guess for backup purpose but if I'm not mistaken you can adb everything now without needing root.

Anyways. In this day and age ROMs are sort of stupid is my point.

What? No way. I had a HTC Sensation with Android 4.0 and HTC Sense and that was a beautiful ROM. Sense looked slick, didn't have much bloat and worked very well. Now I have a phone with a ROM that's pretty much a stock 4.2.2 ROM with a few tweaks (all from the phone's manufacturer) and it works a charm.
I also have a Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet and while I love the hardware and some of the apps I got for it, TouchWiz on it is just painful to use, just like most of Samsung's own apps. They are just ugly, unintuitive and usually there's a superior alternative available in the Play Store, even with S-Pen support.

So use the alternatives.................................moron...
