FWIW, it brings in between $11,000 and $13,000 a year for me now, and that's turning down 10 weddings last year because I was too busy to shoot them.
And I get paid to shoot things besides weddings too. It's not a bad deal for something that I picked up entirely as a hobby about 5 years ago.

Also, wedding photographers don't 'excactly' charge anything. Varies greatly.

If you paid one of the best photographers in your state, you paid at least $5,000 and perhaps up to $10,000 as that is easily what top wedding photographers in a state can charge. I'm sure you left no detail overlooked in your big day and I'm sure you had a wonderful time.

I won't mention the photographer's name, as shes showcasing some of our photos on her website. We actually recently received some free albums from her that she had been using as "sample albums" or whatever you photo bugs call them. We ended up giving them to family, since we already bought everything we wanted...
