Do you play on Open at all, or just Solo at the mo?

Been playing open, mainly trading though

Well at least with a Cobra you can defend yourself to some extent. I'll add you to my list when I get home tonight, see if you're anywhere in my vicinity.

Any of you guys on PC/Mac be up for winging-up for the next community goal whatever it is?
I've been doing this week's and had a lot of fun teaming up with randoms.
It splits the combat bond rewards between wing members, but because more of you are shooting the same target, you're more likely to get the reward.

The latest community goal just ended at Kausalya. I've just moved to 9 Pupis to try some Powerplay and expand Zachary Hudson's territory.
However, new community goals have already been announced here.
For combat, it's a case of handing in bounties at Dahan Gateway in Dahan or Jones Orbital in Hel.
Which do you fancy?

If you still feel like popping along, head on over to Jones Orbital in Hel and pick up the Community Goal mission from the Bulletin Board.

The RES points are around HEL 1.

Jones Orbital's a bit of a slog from the RES points, being ~3,000ls away, and if you're currently associated with a Powerplay faction, or have a bounty on your head, you will get interdicted by players. If that happens, because they usually hunt in wings and interdict single players, submit to the interdiction by reducing throttle to zero. As soon as you drop out of Supercruise, accelerate to maximum speed, assign 4 pips to Engines and 2 to Systems and Frameshift out as soon as possible. Your FSD should take no time to cool down as you submitted to the interdiction.

If they keep at it, you may have to temporarily jump out of system. If that happens, I recommend exiting to the main menu and travelling to your destination in Solo play, then switch back to Open once you're there.

It may sound cowardly, but these guys stack the odds in their favour, typically by hunting as pairs of Fer De Lances.

Oh, and once at the RES point, if you accidentally shoot a non-enemy ship, immediately leave the area. Other players in the instance will just see you as an enemy commander, and they won't bother to scan you first to see your bounty is only 400cr. A 400cr bounty takes 15 minutes to expire, at which point it becomes a legacy fine which can be paid off.
And again, no matter how good your fire control, this will happen to you, as other ships will, accidentally or on-purpose, fly between you and your target.

With wings, can you enter one then leave the game and be in the wing again when you enter again?

Not sure, never tried that. It's easy enough to wing up with people in your friends list though, even if they're not in the same system.

I've moved to the dark side, xbox. it's taken me an hour to get the same amount of cash that took me 6 hours on PC... getting paid 18000 just to move 1 tonne 6ly...

Controls work really well though.

I dunno. ... I find it difficult to make money. Can't make anything with trading runs that net 7k with 68 tons of gold that cost a half million.

Yeah I made 250k off a mission in a fairly short timeframe. Just been sticking to missions for now as they seem to pay better. Found some trade routes tho that pay abou 75k per trip which is much better.
