Here comes another one...
https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/ ... eed-record
On Tuesday, the National Weather Service reported the storm had become a Category 5 with sustained winds of 185 miles per hour. That means Irma now ranks among the most powerful hurricanes (as measured by windspeed) ever recorded.

It seems like every day a new storm sets records. So predictable. When will the media cover something unusual?

Lives in hurricane alley and doesn't already own a generator :olo:

Also, hurricane shutters won't do shit for a category 5 hurricane. Basically it's a 100 mile wide EF4 tornado...

Cat 5's that far out always weaken before making landfall... No biggie... Huge storm surges though...

Roughly 10 miles from the east coast and 140 miles from the current south Florida impact point. They are saying it could be a Cat 3 by the time it hits us. I'm still hoping it takes a turn back towards the east. :ducky:

I wasn't planning to leave unless it was a Cat 4+.

More good news. My generator shipped yesterday and I should get it by Friday.

Now hurricane Jose and Katia, four hurricanes in what, two weeks? Madness :dts:

Well, things are progressively getting worse. The storm is currently not tracking east enough to prevent eye wall impact and the projected impact speed in my area has been increased to a Cat 4. To top it all off, my generator isn't going to be here either.
