so how long have you been working on that then?

if it was kind of like garry's mod, but with mining and the ability to construct really fuck-off huge things, and not all fullbright with cubes and shit texture res from 1993, it'd actually be pretty cool game and doesn't afraid of anything

It's been worked on by a number of people here and has been up since beginning of January. The previous world (pre January) had the ability to construct huge things easily because cheats were enabled; in this world cheats have been turned off by design so people's creations would be a labor of love.

However the new world has kind of failed in a way because everyone seems to have lost interest in the game. And truthfully I agree; even with monsters and health, there's still no gameplay besides mining and placing blocks. If you've lost interest in exploring mines and creating block structures than there's no point in playing the game anymore. There's a ton of potential for creative gameplay and there are bukkit plugins that try to address this (ctf, money systems), but I think it will be coming from an entirely different game and not a series of minecraft updates.
