I wasn't criticizing the pic.

I know, just wondered what you saw.

I didn't link it to YGP as his statement was fucking ridiculous given all the info about the image was linked.

I really like the lighting I get with a bracket mounted flash and softbox.

Just got a job for tomorrow doing an informal portrait and product shots for a doctor who makes fake eyes - I saw some samples of the things and they are pretty impressive. Should be some cool macros.

Yeahso - these pics are all for a website, so is there a specific color profile I should work in for that or just stick with sRGB for it?

Spent about 3 hours this morning watching Bald Eagles feeding, flying, etc. Here's one of about 600 images I took - some amazing in-flight shots and a few of them splashing in the water at the moment the grabbed a fish.

This guy was amazingly tolerant of me being near.

More eagles - I've spent 6 hours now watching these birds - amazing stuff when you are able to get within 10 meters of one of these things eating a fish.

They were endangered for a long time, but made a huge comeback. Now they're off the endangered species list. We have tons of them here in MN, too. A number of the living nat'l symbols have made big comebacks, including bison and timber wolves, despite Sarah Palin's best efforts.

once they're done increasing the numbers of red squirrels and sturgeon in the UK, i want them to reintroduce bears. that would be awesome :olo:

Really like the tones and setup in that sheep shot. You've got the sheep's eyes right at the vertices that break the whole thing up into thirds. Form would be proud of your use of the rules!

One more eagle update -

This one has its nictitating membrane half closed - look at its eye and you'll see the partial covering.

Bad timing (or good timing, depending on what you like)

Hey TNF, what type of softbox were you mounting on your hot shoe flash?

I use a stroboframe camera bracket - decent for the price that I mount the flash on (flash connected by cable to the camera) and then I have a LiteDome XS softbox attached to the flash. That whole setup really softens the light well, but its a bit of a big setup.
Bracket (cheap, but effective:)

Softbox:

I just got a set of Lumiquest flash attachments that are really nice - much less obtrusive and fits on the flash mounted directly on the hotshoe.
I got this:

cool stuff tnf!

here's a shot of some monkey like animal (dunno exactly)... near McRitchie reserve, Singapore.
there were lots of them feeding on flowers and tiny berries and this one gave me quiet a stare when a tele lense was aimed at him! :)
