Chronicles of Riddick - 5/10

Horribly stupid movie, but the art direction is occationally rather good which gives it extra points. Despite the inane story and stunted dialogue, I found myself enjoying it.

And lol, "Necromongers".

"Treshhold, take us to the treshhold" is the most lame, stupidest, irritating war shout I've ever heard.

I have The Condemned here with Stone Cold Steve Austin. Should be 1.5 hours of pure dumb violence, a horrible script, and bad acting. I look forward to it.

Ok, it wasn't as bad as late-stage fat Steven Segal action movie...but not by much. Worse than I expected, and I had low expectations going in.

i thought vinnie jones was pretty funny in that movie

Casino: 5.5/10
Goodfellas: 6/10

Scorsese doesn't really agree with me as a director. He gets good performances out of his actors, but he's obsessed with Jew-this and Italian-that and Nagger-the-other-thing and I just find his whole personal style annoying as shit. Enough with the freeze frames, enough with spending the first twenty minutes of the film unfolding in languorous voiceover the useless details of whatever it is -- the "intro" to casino isn't finished by the 30-minute mark, and there isn't one fucking modicum of an actual plot yet.

Oy vey. I was happy when the Aviator got shit all over by Million Dollar Baby at the oscars back in 2005, but i guess by the time he churned out The Departed (which i thought was tremendously overrated, although again, he got a good performance out of nicholson, and leo too, but wahlberg was terrible) he deserved something just for showing up.

Ghost in the Shell: 4/10
very underwhelmed

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Yawn: 1/10
turned it off after about 10 minutes

Dark City: 4/10
I can't believe people compare this to The Matrix. What tripe.

Pumping iron is a classic, it isn't the first time I've seen it.

I also watched Total Recall, which gets a 11/10 on the Mazda scale.

you are an idiot, but we already knew that

Goodfellas might have been a 7, but Casino soured me on it, as they are about 45% the same film. Also the same in that they have great acting and shitty everything else.

I looked him up and it sounds interesting. Will do.

EDIT: no results on Indigo, Amazon or eBay, what do you recommend?
EDIT2: my campus library has it, sweet.

That's when Mike Katz gets his shirt taken right?

I have that DVD, probably should watch it again. Haven't for some time now.

Funny how much better Lou looked in his 40s than he did in his 20s.
