Beowulf - the 3d was amusing, the cgi was as waxy as it looks in the commercials... mostly pretty good, but it's essentially a cut scene from a video game (i assume we'll see this on xbox360 for christmas? *yawn*). some fun viking-ish dialogue, decent fights, etc.
not nearly as shit as i'd feared, but unless you can see it in the Imax don't come near this thing. 4/10

Sounds like you watched Casino first, big mistake as it is indeed almost a rehash of Goodfellas. Goodfellas is one of my favorite movies, but I was disappointed by Casino.
Yeah, i went through the ones I wanted to watch in alphabetical order. I think you made a very fair statement, if I hadn't just finished casino Goodfellas would have seemed a whole lot better. I will revisit it at a later date.

Realllllly looking forward to NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, but it's not fucking playing in ottawa yet. this city is awful.

Live Free or Die Older: 5/10. Some tip top blowups and chases, but Bruce is too long in the tooth for this type of shit. His signature lines sounded forced and goofy, like he could barely believe he was actually saying them. About 20-30 minutes too long as well.

Planet Terror - 11/10 This is the best movie that's ever been made. Hot chicks, 'zombies', spurting gore, good music, romantic elements, Tarantino dies, explosions, gunplay, Fergie gets eaten, disembowelments, BBQ, hillbillies, Tarantino dies, the betrayed soldier angle + patriotism, more gore, this movie has fucking everything!

It looks amazing, but there's just no real story or character development there. It's only the fact that it's CGI and looks so good that it keeps you remotely interested.
spot on. 5/10.

No Country for Old Men. Excellent flick. I was a little put off by the abrupt ending for a minute, until I realized what he meant.

And where do the Coen bros find these people? The bit part actors along the way seem so authentic, sometimes I wonder if they really went to some mom and pop gas station in TX and recruited the guy behind the counter to be in a movie - and then managed to direct the guy enough that he wouldn't screw up the film.

The Mist - 8/10

This wasn't a masterpiece by an stretch but I really enjoyed it. To date I think it's the only Stephen King adaptation done properly. Well worth your money I would say.

Beowulf 4/10 - The fact it was all CGI detracted further from an already terribly acted movie in my opinion.

Hitman 5/10 - Its not as bad as it could have been.

its funny, before i went out to see this, all of the views basically said " Beter than i expected".. and no matter who i talk to, its allways that same view on it..

it was decent though, it's not as good as i could have hoped, and it only reminds me that i want a S5 really really bad.

I have to rent it again, I only remember bits and pieces of it and that it was utterly mad.

The Hoax- worth seeing

Directed by Lasse Hallstrom, starring Richard Gere and Alfred Molina, this is a good movie about a guy who pretended to be cooperating with Howard Hughes on the latter's autobiography.

Definitely worth seeing. Good performances and a very interesting story.
