PHOTOS PLEASE
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
tnf, I love those heron shots. Fantastic!
And that black bear looks pretty calm. I take it he's pretty far away? Or you somehow managed not to startle it. The few times I've run into them in the woods they scared themselves and hightailed it back before I could even get the camera out.
Black bears. The pussiest of all them all.

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
The composition of that first heron picture just captures my eye. How it comes into the picture, neck all curvy and then ending left top with the fish, the shadows nicely accentuating all of this. Do you still do these nature pics mostly for yourself or are you already selling them TNF?

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
Wow, tnf those are sweet shots. That first heron pic is beautiful.
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
I don't do as many nature pics as I used to and I'm not really selling many nature pics - I've sold a few prints of a couple bald eagle shots and that's about it for nature shots. Right now it's stuff like engagements, sports, senior portraits, and weddings that are keeping me occupied (and I just got some press credentials for a motocross race which should be cool). Just lacking the motivation to sit down and do all of the post-processing right now. I've got 100s of images to get through at the moment.Survivor wrote:The composition of that first heron picture just captures my eye. Just picked up the Canon 85mm F1.8 - Canon users, I cannot recommend this lens highly enough. Borrowed one for several shoots and it became a must own for me after seeing how well it performed for portraits.

Taken at an Aboriginal Education Enhancement Agreement signing on June 21. The woman pictured is a local First Nations support worker who had some great stories and information about the history of the local nations and the school districts.

Shot from a beach volleyball tournament I was at today.

I'll be sure to ask the owner of the house next time.
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
I am very bored, and finally took the tripod out
I want to do some blend shots with multiple me's but don't have photoshop.
this was much bigger when it was raining super hard, but as soon as i got the tripod out for a longer exposure, the rain died down. These are the only kinds of waterfalls we have around here.

yep, bored lol

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
Shadow fight, nice. Also, GIMP probably does what you want as well.
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
GIMP does layers, so you can do multiples (as long as it does layer masking I think).
Here is what fairy ring looks like under the grass. If you own a lawn and have never had to deal with this, consider yourself lucky.
That white stuff is hyphae from the fungus that is probably decomposing organic matter under the ground - from what I've read old root systems from things like trees, rose bushes, etc., are often involved.

it's all about the light
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
ok, this is what i was going for with the blend but it was trickier than i thought it'd be. the ghost fight was just a 30 second exposure and me changing positions and holding them lol... still don't know photoshop well enough to do anything 'cool'

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but those sideburns are really not aerodynamic enough to generate lift until you get a good running start.andyman wrote: yep, bored lol
