I want to give you a big hug. Surprisingly that's one of the least gay statements in this thread.

I'm not gonna flame ya, Fender, but if you treat shark like a steak, it will taste like shit.
Andy, I'd recommend against cooking up a bonnie. It's too much trouble for a small amount of meat. If you wanna give it a go, learn how to bleed them out properly and take a cooler full of ice next time you go out. Bleed the fucker as soon as you land him and throw him on ice immediately. Shark meat spoils REALLY fast. Before you cook it up, soak it in a bowlful of milk in the fridge for a few hours. Sharks store ammonia in their bodies, the milk will help get rid of that. After that, I prefer them as kabobs with a little garlic & butter brushed on them. You can deep fry them, but it'll overpower the delicate taste.
Keep the above advice in mind if you manage to land a nice big shark. You need to taste shark if you haven't yet.
Have you thought about going out on a charter boat? It's usually around $40 and you'll get a chance to catch some real nice, good eating fish, and it's a fucking blast. If raw is still lurking about, he'll confirm this.

thanks for all the info, i'd rather try catching them offshore simply because it's a lot cheaper. i'm a broke mofo. but my friend and I want to try renting a boat from the marina on base, probably next week or maybe even this weekend... i really can't wait to do it and nab some big shit

Goggles aren't on ATM. No ear protection needed and I'm already deaf in my right ear from an injury long long ago.
Edit: And yes, I am building a theater room down there with a mounted ceiling projector etc etc. Hope to have it somewhat ready to go by the summer.
Was in the process of stripping paint off the concrete here.

Actually, GKY had come by complaining about some problems with urination, hence the heavy duty glove and NIOSH approved filter mask.
