You'll probably need more segments by the knees and ankles if you want them to bend properly when animating. Study some wireframes made by other people.

for sure. I was originally just going to throw down blocks and had started with the hooves first.

However, when I got up to the crotch I started worrying about edgeflow more and ended up getting a little more detailed with the mesh as I worked upwards.

Oh wow that was slightly easier than I thought it'd be. Not textured but got her in to the game.

Detailing tomorrow. Took me fucking ages to get to grips with rigging, it's pretty poor in zBrush to be frank.

@Phant nice work, great sense of weight!

@Silicone looking better and better. is animation gonna be an issue with the lack of polys at the joints? (been a bloody long time since i touched a modelling program)

Then again, she has mechanical bits for the legs, so it would probably work better if they were part of a different mesh and just have them rotate along a pivot point. Should be pretty easy to set up a simple IK solver for the hydrolics on her heels for animation.

I tried making a head model in the same style as the already made stuff that Ben did for OverDose, and I was trying to make me but ended up looking nothing like me so I just went with it. I wasn't too happy with how the hair turned out, I guess thats why you never see blonde hair these days in games :P But low poly/high poly sculpt and textures all done from scratch by me:

Really not too happy with this, but it was my first time trying a character face from the ground up.

Not really a screenshot, but I've been pretty busy developing Payday - the Heist, that's why I haven't been able to do much Q3 mapping.

It's a "left 4 dead-ish" coop-game, but instead of zombies - cops - and you're a criminal pulling off different heists.
The game's a budget title on steam and PS-N, for $19 kinda - if you like coop and have some friends who love that too, this is for you.

Here's some people playing it:

Btw, Hipshot, your public betas of Industrial and History were submitted to the lvlworld.com map queue. I assume you didn't put them in there so you should probably message the site admin about taking them down.

Edit: spelling

Just wanted to say that I submitted them, and I am very sorry for any mishaps this may have caused. I got confused by several circumstances, for example the betas were available on FragLove, as well as q3a.ath.cx, so I was mislead into thinking it would be okay to submit them to ..::LvL as well. My flawed thinking has led me down a wrong turn. Had I known earlier that Hipshot would return to them (from an IRC convo), I would have never submitted them. I had merely positive intentions of getting them more exposure, but it seems it has caused more bad than good and I deeply regret this mistake.

P.S. Saw a glimpse of your vids, they looked nice.

Again, I am very sorry about this and felt I should tell everyone and let the truth out as soon as possible. If you have any spare tomatoes to throw, go ahead, I probably deserve it.

submitting maps to review sites should only ever be done by the author or with permission from said author.. tut tut anyway, life goes on... just dont do it again ;)

I was quite positively surprised when I found that my Team Arena map from 2001 got reviewed on Lvl last week without me submitting it. But I was informed by an (automatic) notification mail about this.

Hipshots maps have been removed from the map queue at ..::LvL.

Payday: The Heist is built on the Diesel game engine - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_(game_engine)

Thanks, no harm was really done. I at first though it was some Russian that had copied them and done something to them =)

@ EmeraldTiger, I'm sure the intentions were good, I will return to them at a later time!

Anyway, as Tig said, the game uses the Diesel engine. I've made two levels, one called Panic Room and another called Heat Street.

Panic Room

Level's are of course being populated with cops (lots), civilians and other thugs.

If I'm allowed to, I might post a picture of the editing environment, might not happen though.

That looks damn pretty Hipshot. I should keep an eye on this so I can dry my hands at some design on this game when I get the chance. :)

If it wasn't for the flatter than normal lighting, I would have said those were Crysis 2 shots. Damn nice work.
