actually plained, he's not clueless. plastering over concrete is fine and actually works well. If the paint is at all cracked then he has to remove it before plastering.

wouldnt you want to put in studs , insulation, and a vapour barrier ?

the paint was locking out the condensation.

if a person plasters over undergound cement with large temperture variences, the condensation will cause the plaster to fall off no?

people here allways biuld a proper wall first then plaster over that.

never ever seen plaster directly on a basement wall in this climate type :shrug:
