Pure-dee-shmaltz, but I really enjoyed it.
it was like watching "The Right Stuff" but about baseball players instead of astronauts!

Superhero Movie = 6.5/10 - Entirely predictable yet had me lolling at certain parts. Does a good job of spoofing the Spiderman series. Leslie Nelson offers more of the same but hey...it's Leslie Nelson so he's funny.

Don't really understand what the fuss is all about. Yes, Spain managed to crank out a zombie flick, big whoop.
Liked the lead chick, although I kept wishing someone slapped the hysterics out of her, preferably me.
7/10

Zombie Movie = 7/10 - I downloaded this short film off of Steam. It's a story about three idiots trapped in a car with no petrol left in the tank, one pack of smokes, little food and surrounded by the undead waiting for them outside the car.
Hilarity - and some fucking retarded dialogue - ensues.

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead - 7/10. It's worth a watch. Each character's viewpoint unravels some other messed up part of the central crime that was committed.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - 9/10
Excellent movie, every time I see it I find myself just sitting there smiling throughout the entire movie (well maybe perhaps for the sad part towards the end), because the humor is so laid back and subtle and spot on. Wes Andersson has got that special sense of humor that is both deadly serious and completely ridiculous at the same time. Although I didn't really like the Royal Tenenbaums, with this one he really nailed it. And it's got Bill Murray, what more can I say? One of my all time favorites, definitely in my top ten.

I really like that movie as well, though I wouldn't say it was in my top 10. It does have some unique characteristics about it which I really liked.
Also rented cloverfield last night... I liked the atmosphere and all that the movie had, but I can sleep well tonight knowing I didn't buy it.

Agreed on all counts, you must now watch The Darjeeling Limited, you'll love it.

Cloverfield: 3/10. Just crap. Yes there are a few sequences where the handheld-docustyle really delivers. But this is an empty story populated with empty people and a few cool creature effects. MTV had buttsex with the Youtube generation and this is the result.

across the univers - 6/10
beginning: interesting
middle: awesome
end: fail
there were some truly awesome parts but the ending leaves the viewer with a "meh." this movie tries to be too many things and comes up short in every way.

Harold & Kumar Escape Guantanamo Bay: 6/10 the similarities between this and the first movie in addition to being very predictable are the only knocks against it. The bottomless party scene is pure win though. Funny but not a must see like the first one.

I love you seeing as how your the only person ON THE PLANET who agrees with me that Cloverfield was utter shit.

What if you baked? I think that's the only reason I enjoyed the first one...
Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street: 7/10 - Johnny Depp's in it, so I just mastru.... No, but really: I love Depp and Burton when they pair up. Both have such odd, quirky qualities it just always works. Throw Helena Bonham Carter in the mix and you almost can't loose. There was a little more singing then I thought, but it wasn't nails on a chalkboard. The blood in the movie looks awful and I'm curious as to why Burton choose to do that... It had to have been on purpose. All in all, if you aren't a huge Johnny Depp fan then you probably won't like this movie.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - 7.5/10 - maybe 8.
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I hadn't seen anything about it, and I thought I was being dragged to a chick flick. Instead I was being dragged to a high-larious chick flick that I was happy to watch.
Luckily, I missed the first 5-10 minutes of the movie so I didn't have to watch the full-frontal male nudity. The rest of it was great for the most part.
I'd also like to know if those were really Mila Kunis' tits in that picture.

5/10, but you're bang on about the empty characters. I felt I didn't even care about them in any way, but the ending left me unsatisfied. Overall it was entertaining for a B grade movie. The monster was pretty cool too and it was great to see the monster win just for once

couldn't tell you, it'd probably up the funny quotient a bit though.

I saw the trailer for "Quarantine"...which was basically an english remake for the movie [Rec]...so I watched [Rec] and Diary Of The Dead:
[Rec] = 6/10 - This movie just isn't really scary. Sure, there are some tense moments but the overall production fell short of the more "polished" look from the Quarantine trailer. Plus the make up in Quarantine looked better so maybe it'll be more authentic in terms of suspense. Who knows? One major fuck up to the Quarantine trailer is that they put the end shot in the fucking trailer.

But I guess like with The Ring the producers were so blatant in their ripoff of a movie that only came out last year they figured everyone had seen [Rec] already.
Diary Of The Dead = 8/10 - Romero is back and - while set up and shot in the same hand-held style as Cloverfield, [Rec] and others - it has a really nice flow to it. They've also gone completely bonkers on the gore and special effects. You'll probably laugh like I did at the over the topness of it all.

Harold and Kumar go to Guantanamo bay, have to agree with Fury on this one, 6/10, pretty much what he said. I do think getting baked before watching would make it funnier.
