The Beast of War 9/10

This oldie from the eighties came up in conversation with a friend of mine and i gave it a download when i got home because i hadn't seen it in a long time... i could only remember fragments. It's about the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan - a tank gets separated from it's platoon, drives into the wrong valley and is hunted by rebels seeking revenge.

It's one of the best war movies i've ever seen, right up there with Apocalypse Now, Stalingrad and the first half of Full Metal Jacket. Mainly because the whole thing just continuously breathes a sense of absolute brutish, senseless ugliness.

Batman Returns. 8.5/10

I bought it on HD and I'm glad I did. This film translates very well to the HD format. If you own it on SD and have an HD player try it out.

The first Harold & Kumar movie was the most racist piece of crap I've ever seen. Second one looks to be more of same and hence, fuck that.

I agree with your description for the most part, but I'd give it a 5/10, I enjoyed it.

AVPR - 2/10 Good lord, what a shitfest of a movie.

Man, what was the deal with that?! How do you fuck up "Two crazy alien races do battle and humans get caught in the middle"? The first one was stupid but at least it was entertaining. This one, for some reason, felt the need to introduce 80 characters, give them backstories, and then have them get stabbed or something stupid like that. Fucking christ what dumbass movie.

Yep, they fucked it up by the numbers. I felt the first one didn't even come close to realizing its potential and the second one, for fuck's sake...
Nothing but gratuitous gore, like that fucking STUPID Predator-Al1en (fucking gay word filter) hybrid pumping all the chest bursters into the pregnant chick. What the hell was the point of that? And did the Al1ens always have that exponential growth rate? How the fuck did the government get all that info so fast? Who was the chick at the very end? Why did only 1 Predator respond to the distress call? Why did this movie suck so much ass?

Dark City - 8/10

It's a pretty good movie. Kiefer Sutherland was insanely good, as were William Hurt and Rufus Sewell. I heard they're re-releasing it in July.

Iron Man 8/10

Excellent movie. Neat effects. A laugh or two. A few action packed scenes.

-1 point for the douche in front being obtuse and asking questions like "who's that guy" when the main bad guy is shown for the 10th time.

-1 point for not having more ass kicking and being PG-13.

Overall, I'll pay money for this on DVD. I don't say that about many movies.

Iron Man = 8/10 - Although everyone knows who the bad guy is as soon as he's on-screen for the first time.

The Golden Compass ..Terrible movie .. fun factor zero

Beowolf .. somewhat entertaining, great computer animation except they still haven't got face\eyes animation perfected yet .. Angelina Jolie naked 3D image gave me a boner

Rescue me DVD Season One .. Total Garbage .. i had high hopes for this series but was turned off by the preachiness , 911 references and Denis Leary .
a real life drama "i don't think so".
one guy gets raped by a man, goes out with a fat chick, gets laid by the daughter of the mother he's dating, has offer of a threewome "2 guys in girl". that's one guy.

everyone else has a zillion other things happening .. it's just too far fetched and unreally stupid

I just watched Rescue Me season one too. I think you have to like Dennis Leary to like this series. He's an ass, but I like his performance in this, so I liked the series.

Iron Man - 8.5/10

Added an extra .5 because I didn't recognize Jeff Bridges right away. I had no idea on the cast (beyond the lead), because I tend to avoid watching trailers, etc. if I think the movie is going to be good.

I saw Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind last night and after an initial apprehension I thought it was brilliant. An excellent idea executed in an excellent way without being too clever for its own good.

Iron Man

Fuck this film was class. Great acion, great music, it was nearly perfect. If anything should of been changed it should of been the end, which did feel a little rushed in places and crammed in... But shit it was awesome, really loved it.

If you watch, stay after the credits.
