Madagascar 2 6/10
Not as funny as i hoped

I'm thinking more penguins would have made this movie better.

Yea, definitely. So is O Brother Where Art Thou, IMO. And Raising Arizona.

Quantum of Solace 3/10
"The name's Bourne, James Bourne"
Plus, worst.bond.theme.ever, even including that piece of shit by Chris Cornell

Saw V - I can't believe how, meh this was, traps (imo) blew compared to the earlier movies, story jumped around and even though there was a bit to explain it seemed like all this movie was all about mr story teller instead of what I enjoyed about the first four. Couple of cool moments but not at all what I was expecting.
4ish does it justice in my eyes. But most of the people that I know that have seen it like it much more, I wont be buying it.

City of God - 9/10
A thought-inspiring true story. Well shot, well acted, and gripping.

Wall-E
pretty fun, i dig the lack of speech.
it would be even better if it didnt have the happy ending
trust pixar to push in some nice details, like wall-e being a mac and greenland being gone in the final shot of the earth

Training day - 7/10
Very good, but doesn't quite reach great. At it's best the first time you see it, which is a shame. Dr Dre's performance it so-so, but Macy Gray is excellent.

The new bond movie. 7/10
Why are all of you complaining? What do you want from a Bond flick?

Finally, a positive review. I'm still looking forward to seeing this one since its another return to the Bond of the books and not the cheese of previous Bond movie incarnations.
Global Metal - 8/10 Excellent look into the impact of heavy metal worldwide. Another great documentary by Sam Dunn.
Conjurer - 1/10 I expected B-grade cheesiness but this movie didn't really "go" anywhere at all with its pseudo-horror plot. I want my hour and a half back

The Invasion = 5/10 - Same premise as Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. Some terrific editing and good acting but overall not too engaging. Nicole Kidman is just so damned easy on the eyes.

How to Lose Friends & Alienate People
Yeah, in this flick Simon Pegg is semi-funny, and Megan Fox is semi-hot, and Jeff Bridges is semi-cool-bossy, and Kirsten Dunst is semi-the-girl-you-really-should-focus-on.
But the plot is full on Hollywood crap.
At 2/3 of the movie Kirsten Dunst's character tells Simon Pegg's character: Fuck off, I'm going to stay with the more succesful guy, no matter how much we connect and like the same music and shit, or whatever.
End of movie, that's how life is. No need to get bitter.
But no, then you have to sit through a half hour of unfeasible changes of events bringing them together and ending up with eachother.
For fuck sake Hollywood, please, for once, try to discharge something from your infested, stretched anus that isn't the same predictable, crowd pleasing garbage.

It may suck for some but crowd pleasing makes money so Hollywood will keep churning out those type of movies. They aren't looking to elevate cinema, they're looking to the bottom line. Hollywood film is business, plain and simple.

Yeah, I know, and I'm not trying to pretend I'm not equally pleased by generic Hollywood plot twists and turns. Because I am. It feels familiar, and warm and fuzzy.
Catering to the lowest common denominator is a logical thing to do, because that's where all the money is likely to come from.
But sometimes you get appalled by the blatant laziness and the lack of balls that are apparent in a script, and you just wish things weren't played safe and only focused on box office revenue.
