Dark Knight, finally.
I don't understand where all the abject fawning over this is coming from.
It was ok, as was Ledger's Joker performance, although a bit schmiering with all the lip licking and all.
And what was with Christian Bale grunting? He didn't do that in Batman Begins, did he?
But overall just a decent action flick deserving a solid 8 out of 10.

The Onion Movie. 5/10. Had one or two memorable skits, but overall kinda lame.

eh, whatever. "look at me, I can have a movie review of the movie in the movie. it was funny when spaceballs did it, so it's still funny, right? right...?" "we're making fun of a caricature of corporate ownership! ha ha, aren't those jokers out of touch!" "penis penis cock penis cock!"
the funny in the onion has always come from donning the trappings of the news media while presenting stories that mock what the modern news media reports on. their video news is awesome because of how perfectly it mocks contemporary news, from the insane tv show graphics down to the timbre of the host's voices.
not only did this movie fail at that (the lone, somber news anchor has been dead for 25 years or so), it largely failed at being very funny in any other way, and the ending completely went off the rails into stupid.

That "Kitty Cooking Show" at the end was hilarious...as was the nun chugging ape cum.
I see your point about the overall "deadpan delivery" of the typical Onion video...but the movie was still funny and you still suck.
Their parody of whores like Britney Spears was spot on and nobody can deny the power of the Cockpuncher as "advertisement" segues between skits. I think you might be too picky with regards to the newscaster....he delivered some hilarious headlines the way he should have.

Punisher: Warzone - 7/10
After two failed attempts at Punisher movies this one finally got it right. Ray Stevenson did a good job of playing an implacable Punisher as he waged his one man war in brutal and bloody fashion. This was a faithful comic adaptation and enjoyable action movie.
Transporter 3 - 3/10
The plot made no sense and the acting was jaw-droppingly awful. The one impressive thing in the movie was that Statham was able to keep a straight face while delivering his lines. The female lead, Natalya, made me want to lobotomize myself with a pop straw every time she opened her mouth. Avoid this one.

I was at Sony DADC yesterday, and saw them running it through an HDCAM SR deck to a Pro Tools suite for 5.1 mastering. UK release can't be far off.

The Mist - 7/10
Surprisingly good. I remember reading the short story many years ago, but I don't remember it having this ending? This ending was wonderful though, you kinda saw it coming but it was very nice none the less. A few silly creature effects, but the crazy religious bitch was great. Definitely recommended.

The Mist is easily one of my most favorite movies.
Scary, funny and awful, nicely wrapped together into one great flick.
Saw Resident Evil: Degeneration, last night.
I try to watch all CGI movies, because I'm just interested in how new developments in that field are handled.
This one goes for the 'make it look as much like real life'-approach, in which it occasionally succeeds.
But I don't really care much for that approach, really.
CGI should be realistic when incorportated in life action, but not necessarily in a stand alone CGI flick, IMO. I just want to see good animation.
There's this misconception that that's what CGI should thrive to do: make it look real and life like.
I'd much rather see the focus be on a well written scripts and good acting, like your Shreks, Toy Stories and Wall-E's.
This movie unfortunately lacks both, so I'm going to give it a 5.5 out of 10.

The Mist is pure excellence.
Just watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It was actually pretty decent. 7 out of 10.

Resident Evil Degeneration
Ownage. Only negative thing I can say is Leon looks odd, but other than that it was fucking awesome. Best game to movie transition I've seen, easy. This is how all game>movies should be done from now on. If you have even of a sniff of liking for the RE games, watch this.

too bad its not a game>movie. cg really doenst count
if it does, however, SF2 Anime owns all.
in conclusion, fuck u...

Of course it counts you dumb cunt, so does SF2, which I own and I agree its awesome, if a bit aging now.
The simple rule of thumb is... Can I play what I just saw? No? then its a movie...
Silly twunt...

well ok
a cg movie is more of an extension of a game than an actual cg>film transition imho tho.
as for the rule of thumb.. it does explain mgs4

MGS4 wasnt a game or a movie. It was a sleeping aid.

Resident Evil: Degeneration - 6/10
haven't played an RE game since the first one on PS1 so didn't really have a frame of reference, but i enjoyed this movie. it's got plenty of zombies and plenty of action.
has that japanese preposterous monster thing going on, which the live action adaptions did a much better job of - and the dubbing made it a little difficult to stay engrossed in the (convoluted) story, but i guess that's more of a CGI thing than being specific to RE:D.
btw, where are ryoki and nightshade?

the day the earth stood still 5/10
the only way it could be slightly entertaining and thought provoking is if you had never watched an alien invasion movie.
I wont even bother to explain any further, clearly it was en excuse to keep the people involved employed.
