I watched Step Brothers (the unrated DVD version). A few typical Ferrel 1-liners, but overall just a bunch of weak attempts at humor that seemed to center around how many times the word "fuck" could be said...apparently saying "fuck" a lot makes things really fucking funny.
I sat through the latest Mummy movie - "curse of jet li's and brendan fraser's acting on the same screen" or something...Good lord avoid that.

I am Legend was missing something, corpses for one. Although it told the story well imo (like the bit were he covered his tracks at this front door, it just lacked that something that would give a rating of 8+ so sadly I have to drop it to 7/10 and I am into sci-fi so it is a hard rating.
seriously? that movie sucked... totally fell off the rails 1/2 through and had god awful special effects to boot.
i'm tainted by loving the book; but that movie wasn't even good on it's own.
I didnt like the movie that much either. The best parts were where he was talking to the mannequins in the store and out on the street only because I found it amusing. Other than that, I wasn't impressed. So on that note......
I Am Legend 5/10

Afro Samurai - 7.5 / 10
I know, it's technically a 5 episode anime but I hear it referred to as a movie often enough to call it such.
Story was interesting but there could have been more to it. The movie overall had great artwork and excellent fight scenes.
I loved the character design, the music, and generally, the blend of sci-fi with traditional Japanese culture all sprinkled with a bit of rap/funk/hip-hop.
But when it ended I was surprised. The entire thing seemed to be lacking something. I can't quite put my finger on it but there's just so much more that could have been there.
And again, did I mention the fight scenes? Awesome sequences although lacking in giblets. More gore would have been nice to see but it was pretty sweet nonetheless.
Ill buy it just for the sake of having it because it's pretty unique but it's not something I'd want to watch more than 2 times in a year.

Meet the Spartans 4/10
It was mostly retarded with a few funny moments. Not very many . Tried too hard. Hot Shots Part Deux was better.

The Italian Job
Wiki Clicky
No not the original, but the remake of 2003. Donald Sutherland was great for the brief time on screen, and I really loved the Napster reference.
Clicky for the blonde actor/actress Charlize Theron
*
Entertaining I suppose and a 7.5/10
Can't really remember the original but I am sure it was better

* Is it politically correct to still say actress or am I showing my years?

Tropa de Elite 8/10
Powerful flick about members of a Brazillian elite police unit resorting to fascist methods in the war against poverty... err drugs. Kinda like City of God but from a different perspective and with a slightly grittier feel to it.

Outlander = 7/10 - Actually a decent flick. I thought it was gonna be utter shit but it delivers.
W = 7/10 - A very interesting movie that actually makes Dubya seem like a human being.
Zack And Miri Make A Porno = 7/10 - Funny as hell. "For discretionary jacking off. With a Fleshlight if you get caught nobody thinks it's weird, you're just a guy who likes to fuck his flashlight. I am totally buying this shit."
Changeling = 8/10 - Good movie with good performances. What a fucked up story...and it actually happened.
Secret Life Of Bees = ZZZZzzzzzz.
The Long Riders = 8/10 - I hadn't seen this in a while. A fairly accurate portrayal of the James/Younger gang with top-notch acting. A classic western.
Underworld - Rise Of The Lycans = 6/10 - Meh. Not horrible but not good. Not really entertaining.
The Escapist = 7/10 - Decent.

It's not the BEST film ever IMHO, but it did change the way movies were made forever: Instead of movies essentially being filmed "stage plays", Citizen Kane focused on cinematography, sound and editing to bring a whole new way of making movies.
I think it's considered "the best" because of the inspiration it created.
