So out of curiosity is mc.quake3world.com still up? Or is it down due to the update? Or is it just me... :p

there should be fewer - but much larger - caves, with cave trolls who drop diamonds and dragon lairs (like smaug in the hobbit) where you get cool bragging rights stuff from killing the dragon, like arrow-proof dragon armour and other goodies

also, y no obsidian toolz?

You calling me a tool, bitch?... oic... carry on.

Indeed, I got bored of this game pretty quickly, there needs to be more of a challenge and some sort of direction in the greater scheme of things.

It's down for the extended; I'll put up links to the maps soon if anyone wants to download them.

My server can't handle multi worlds and people just aren't playing.

If notch comes out with a revolutionary update that overhauls the game and makes it interesting again, I'd be glad to put a server up again.

the challenge is in finding your own direction

if you want point-to-point linearity, play DNF

What I mean is, something of increasing difficulty. Once you reach a certain point in the game, there isn't much challenge or threat to survival. Bigger monsters and cooler weapons would be a good start. Maybe you could craft a bulldozer or crane for faster mining?

Bulldozer would be pretty freaking awsome
They got pistons now in the game though, makes for some interesting mechanics.

This is pretty cool. These guys wrote a script that can be used to print Minecraft creations on a 3D printer:

I think I'm gonna keep things running on notch's vanilla server. Seems much more stable... I just start it and forget it. Doesn't complain about memory either. A little playground if ever people want to itch their creative bone.

Yeah leave it vanilla, all that extra shit just makes stuff complicated and tacky. I'll try and log on every now and then.
