Layer Cake 9/10. Fucking EXCELLENT movie, great plot and great casting. It definitely grabs your attention, and I found myself dying to find out how Daniel Craig was going to get out of the rather nasty predicament he's in. There are a lot of interesting twists to the movie, and I think I actually said "HOLY SHIT" out loud over the ending.
The film is from the producer of Snatch and Two Smoking Barrrels, and it's rather Ritchie-esque. Definitely hasn't gotten the publicity it deserves, GO RENT IT.

i wanted to fucking kill myself 20 mins in. seriously.4days wrote:say 'paycheck' the other day. that was really fucking awful.
3/10, and all 3 are for uma thurman doing her best not to act everyone else off the screen. would've been 4 if she'd managed it.
worst movie of the last 10 years, and by john woo no less.
a thousand hollywood cliches used, NONE of them timed correctly.
my god, the humanity!

Fucking hilarious. Kenneth Branagh in that film is nothing short of fantastic. Smith and Kline are great also.
I know a good film for me when I can watch it 5 times in a row and not get bored of it.

Were you expecting Citizen Kane?SplishSplash wrote:Saw the replacement killers a couple days ago.
Most cliched story ever.
But I liked how Til Schweiger (the 'replacement killer' who has the uzi in a suitcase) who is kind of a famous actor in Germany, got like 5 min screentime after they said this would be his "Hollywood breakthrough".
Yeah... but Schweiger is a homo and his hollywood career is allready dead. So the is career of Franka Potente.SplishSplash wrote:But I liked how Til Schweiger (the 'replacement killer' who has the uzi in a suitcase) who is kind of a famous actor in Germany, got like 5 min screentime after they said this would be his "Hollywood breakthrough".

CRASH
The move was by far one of the best movies I have seen this year. This movie rocked. Another kick ass film from "Lions Gate"
A 36-hour period in the diverse metropolis of post-Sept. 11 Los Angeles is the theme of this unflinching drama that challenges audiences to confront their prejudices. Lives combust when a Brentwood housewife and her district attorney husband, a Persian shopkeeper, two cops, a pair of carjackers and a Korean couple all converge.
Director Paul Haggis's gritty film stars Sandra Bullock, Brendan Fraser, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon and Jennifer Esposito.
Cast: Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Jennifer Esposito, William Fichtner, Brendan Fraser, Terrence Howard, Christopher Bridges, Thandie Newton, Ryan Phillippe, Larenz Tate, Tony Danza

Not at all, I might go and see it since it's still in cinemas here and I'm still getting free ticketsGiraffe }{unter wrote:I believe the words "I'm not watching it" would be much easier to type

I just find it amazing that a halfway decent film would pick an identical name to an already established one.

It's a good film IMO, don't write it off because the title's the same as another film ffs.Foo wrote:They picked a bad name for that movie. There's already a major movie called crash. Was out in 1996, directed by David Cronenberg.
..which leads me to thing the promotion team behind this 'crash' are morons.
