Zack and Miri make a porno
What a fucking roasted turd of a movie.
Those lazy cunts Kevin Smith and Seth Rogen seem to think they can pull anything out of their ass, moronic audiences will lap it up anyway.
They took some 'hilarious' premise, and then thought that would do, no more work for teh funneh is required,
The movie contains no jokes, no laughs and no funny situations. That's quite a feat for something that pretends to be a comedy.
3/10

The Signal 7/10
Fucked up people deal with a fucked up situation by fucking things up. Solid funny little horror comedy

Clearly low budget, but they made it work.

It's not really meant to be a comedy, moreso an experiment. It was directed by 3 different directors. One that does horror, one that does comedy, one that does suspense.

Hehe, I also watched The Signal this weekend (on a recommendation I read here by 4days).
I didn't realise the 3 chapters were each directed by three different directors.
Must say the second 'comedy' one felt a bit out of place and awkward to me, disruptive even.
But all in all not bad at all for a low budget flick, and I'm a sucker for movies that have their plot unfold in a non linear way and from different perspectives

Watchmen - 6.5/10
Above average but not as good as the graphic novel. The part focusing on Dr. Manhatten was amazing and completely made up for the shittastic first 30 minutes.
The soundtrack for the movie was terrible as well.

The new ending was better than the comic by far...

Best opening credits ever.
I liked the film but it really was style over substance, which is the complete opposite of the graphic novel. It's more of an art project than a complete movie in my opinion. I would really have liked to have seen Paul Greengrass's version and seen more of a narrative and not just stylish scenes spliced together.
Overall though, it's still a good movie in it's own right, just not really a great Watchmen movie.

I don't agree. By placing the blame solely on Dr. Manhatten's shoulders they missed the point a bit.
It was too tidy and far less morally grey.

By missing out on the Ozymadias backstory (or by making it so short) you never really understood his motives.
I also didn't like them leaving out the Rorscach backstory, but I am hopeful all of these things will be on the DVD.

Rumour would have it that the extended DVD/Blu-ray version is going to be nearly 4 hours long and squid will make an apperance...

Cloverfield -- 7/10
Better than I was expecting, and not a bad godzilla movie. wtf was up with the 70min run-time though? Seriously, it was shorter than the pilot for most TV shows; if they were going to air this on TV with commercial breaks in a standard 2 hour slot they'd have to add material rather than the usual "cut for time constraints". What would have been nice is if they tossed a 15 min epilogue on the end of the home-movie for closure and explanation.

kinda agree on the ending part, but the sudden ending kinda drives home the point of nobody surviving, from that group of people
