and.... nothing I guess, but I couldn't justify spending 500$ on something for sentimental reasons when i could have gotten a Canon 350 for the same.

But a Canon 350 is far from being...mechanical... ROFL

AYE to that. I saw a 50th anniversary M7 titanium package tucked behind a glass cabinet the other day and left drool marks all over by the time I was done checking it out. ...but alas, the realization of the enumeration needed for that(or a regular M7 + choice glass) I could fund either a 200-400mm VR or a 400mm F2.8(which I am thinking about a lot these days).
Yeah... I'm going for the 300 f/2.8 myself after I trim my collection down to the things I actually use. The nearly 2x price diff between 400 and 300 is too much to justify for that extra 100mm, especially when you can add an extender to the 300 and only lose the one stop. I wouldn't say no to a 400 if someone gave it to me, but I digress... Time to go shoot some volleyball \o/
Oh and I actually had my eye on a Voigtländer for this class I'm taking, but ended up finding the cheap 1V instead.. I was sold on RF the first time I held one.

Ken is hilarious if you are a Nikon fan like he is. I like reading his stuff from time to time, but don't always agree with his views. Still, he has provided lots of helpful tips over the years.
I thought rockwell was a cunt until I saw his replies to chris weeks who was trying to destroy him.

I had the opportunity to shoot these tonight(1 hour ago - 1:15am) at the shipyard down the street from my house. The engineers are pulling another all nighter because the lights are on. This thing is gigantic and have been docked here for over 6 months, under construction. I'm too tired so here are two that I've processed...

Yeah, they have pretty high security cameras all over the place and don't like people taking photos of any sorts. I was shooting during the day one other time and two security guys were on me less than 10 minutes into the shoot. Once they found out I was a foreigner they waved me off, but still took my camera to see what I was shooting. I gave them my business card and we chatted a bit about photography. LOL. At night it's a lot easier becuase there are good places to camp out under the trees and no one will see.
