Although the flaws in the idea of Adam and Eve starting the entire human race are many, the argument you just put forth isn't a very strong one at all.
The races we see all did evolve from common ancestors, by the way.

I'm not saying they weren't evolved from our ancestor's at all. I believe that in every way. I suppose I wasn't too clear in what I was trying to get across...
People that refuse to believe in evolution, and believe instead in Adam and Eve, contradict themselves for the reason you stated. Obviously somewhere along the line, our ancestor's evolved into the races, and people that are around today.

I see what you are getting at...miscommunication.
I was trying to explain to someone how the idea of Noah's Ark is completely ridiculous and that the story was never meant to be taken literally.
This person believed that Noah's Ark did indeed have 2 of every single animal on earth...even dinosaurs.
So I let them believe that and simply asked what the predatory species were going to eat as soon as they all got off the boat. They really can't eat their natural prey, because Noah only took 2. I didn't realize anyone out there was till taking Noah's story literally, but there is 'research' being done.
They want to discuss the impossibility of evolution based on genetics and whatnot. Well, try to get them to explain how the present population and amount of genetic diversity could have arisen from 6 humans (or whatever there was supposed to be post flood) in a few thousand years.
The truth is that most of them (Biblical literalists) never consider even the most basic questions raised by their literal interpretation of the Old Testament books.
But one can also say that many of the folks on the other end of the spectrum (whoever that might be...) who like to poke fun at the "backwards thinking of religious types" are often almost just as out of touch with reality.
The run-of-the-mill, pedantic rants that folks make about religion are about as tiresome as the ramblings of the hardcore zealots.
Education, intellect, analytical skills, etc., are not things that are only absent in religious fundamentalists. There are plenty of atheists, agnostics, liberals Democrats, non-Americans, Canadians even, that are just as lacking in mental acumen.
Ok, enough of my redundant babble.

It's not really right on topic, but this is a good enough thread as any for it. Here's a recent opinion article about Behe and Intelligent Design. It made me chuckle.
http://www.mndaily.com/articles/2005/10/11/65535
...Searching PubMed for “Behe MJ” and sorting the results by date, you will find 11 publications since 1992, when the good professor converted to his new Ideology. Several are just letters to the editor...
...This falls far short of the claim that a designer must have intervened, but what the heck, let’s put all 11 in the ID column.
Under these rather generous assumptions, ID’s leading light has produced fewer than a dozen peer-reviewed papers for the cause, none of which explicitly mentions ID. That number is substantially less than PubMed finds for “voodoo” (78), and pales in comparison with “diaper rash” (475).
Perhaps when the number of supporting publications rises to the level of “horse feces” (929) the professional community will grant ID some respect.

Hahaha, that's the first time I've heard anyone think that Noah had Dinosaur's on the Ark. Wow, I'll definitely remember that one.

Apologies to all for my outburst of anger.
I just thought the USA has been made enough of a punching bag on this discussion board long enough that someone should take a whack at those who can't seem to leave us American's alone - on this message board.
So TNF, i'm well aware "The Crusades" occured due to circumstances beyond my knowledge.
And kracus i was only poking fun at Canada.
I'm also aware that the "good ole" (cough bullshit) USA deserves to be a puching bag for some of its....
activities...
for lack of a better word.

Here's the guy who is at the root of this ID bullshit..Michael Behe.
Science types, take a look at his list of publications and notice how few of them are actually peer reviewed pieces on his research.
http://www.lehigh.edu/~inbios/behe.html
You can even email him from there....maybe I'll see if I can get him into a discussion and put it up here. But I doubt that will happen.

Actually you are both about as out of touch with science, so maybe that wouldn't be a bad idea.
