I've read:
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The Resturant at the End of the Universe
Life, The Universe and Everything
So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish
What is the 5th one?

Mostly harmless.
The last two are woefully bad.

No, SLATFATF is fricking great, you just didn't get it, man.
Mostly Harmless is alright, but Adams had slipped into crochety old bugger mode by then which is why the whole book is affected by an atmosphere of abject misery and the ending is crap.

Yeah, the ending of Mostly harmless was a big anti climax

My favourite is The Resturant at the End of the Universe. Vey original concept in that book.

I read the trilogy and watched the movie some times. Last year I got the DVD box

I never read the fish book and Mostly Harmless, cos I was told they were not that good.
Anyway, I will watch the remake although I have a little doubt that it works. Eric Idle didn't work in american comedy. But no matter if it is americanized or not, a good part of the comedy in the original HHG came from crappy effects and low budget design and that part will obviously be replaced with up to date cgraphics.
but I'm waiting gobberwartly for 04/29
