It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I'm glad they finally released this so all you guys bitching about how slow it's going to be can get educated.

Amidy, my work XP box does that when there are hardware install things going on in the background. Make sure your drives aren't running in PIO mode or something like that.

KABOOM!!!!!!!

So.. either the Nvidia drivers, or Audigy drivers are causing lockups..

Im pointing at the audio ones atm.. since, creative is known to release shit drivers.

nothing is running, the drive is SATA so no, its not running pio...

i am in the process of updating the drivers.. but the creative shit is stopping when it trys to install the windows drivers.

and dave, yes, it runs slow..... just fyi.

edit: Hummmm, i am sure the fact that vista as a base using 860 Megs of ram out of 1 gig dosent help eather....

More when i find it :)

Well, all Windows betas run slow. I think they're neutered on purpose. Mine never used that much ram.. it didn't use any more out of the box than XP.

welp, now that the MSN install has just stopped as welll.. and windows trying to install the creative card.. opp! that just gave a "Unknown" error...

and i am sitting at 1.1gig's of ram used.
and the hickup's are comming about every second or so :)

this is getting close to the "Waste of time" bin... and XP 64bit is sitting there waiting.

You can always try the 32-bit version.. you're not going to see any benefit from 64 anyway unless you're hiding some leetness I've never noticed before

i could, you are 100% right.. but right now i am a little... turned off for vista..

i just timed it, nothing running in the background.. 840megs of ram used.. and 4:45 ( min:sec ) time to shut the computer down.. Harddrive thrashing the whole time..

Ohh, and much to my delight! when i turned it back on, it seemed to have "misplaced" the network driver.

and thats the default Vista driver that it misplaced btw.

so, thus far, 64-bit is a no no atm. i MIGHT give the 32-bit vir a try... but i will most likly just go back to Xp pro and be done with it.

anyway, i have had enough for the night. Later gents :)

Give 32bit a try.. Beyond Creatives drivers (fucking bullshit, i reinstalled it and now its not "taking" stupid shit fucking fucker grr) its been pretty solid.

using 726 ram atm.. and have the blizzard downloader chucking along, with xfire and IE..

Are there any nVIDIA nForce 2 Ultra 400 drivers for Vista? nVIDIA has display drivers, but they didn't have any chipset drivers. Also I my ethernet isn't working, my guess would be due to the lack of chipset drivers?

there's some cool features though like the snipping tool ,drag curser around the screen to cut and capture any portion of the screen you want and save as jpg

i like the additional games

i like how outlook express spam and phising filter is working. i like the many options on blocking domains

i like the animation and transparency

i like the new explorer and options

internet explorer pop up blocker doesn't work as well as Firefox
for instance when i go to Bluesnews.com i get with Mozilla it complely bypasses the main advert link to IGN
with IE7 i need to manually skip that page
