Actually, shitbasket, it is widely believed that algebra originated near 1800BC in Babylon where an advanced system of arithmetic was developed. The word algebra came from an Arabic word ‘al-jabr’ meaning 'reunion' and that was taken from a book called ‘The Book of Summary Concerning Calculating by Transposition and Reduction.' That, my smelly little rodent, was written by Muhammad ibn Musa al-Kwarizmi in 820, a Persian mathematician.busetibi wrote:which may be true if I was an Australian,Captain Mazda wrote:While my ancestors were already living in civilized society and discovering medicine and algebra, your convict fathers were still barking up trees and throwing feces at each other
seeing as I'm not, your point is wasted and moot.
oh andat filthy persians discovering algebra,
Diophantus is regarded as having discovered algebra (which is why hes called the father of algebra, and he wrote "Arithmetica" long before the turdling omar khayyam took an interest.
in fact Diophantus lived from 200 to 284 and khayyam wasn't born till 1048!
