I completed farcry without even seeing doyle during the last fight, i instinctively spammed his little room with grenades and caned his ass.

I never actually finished far cry either, got to the big ass crater filled with mutants right before Doyle and gave up.

Replayed the first half of the game several times though!

Fixing to fire up Crysis on my new XFX 9800 gtx XXX . I finished Far Cry and was disappointed by the end as well. Most of the game i enjoyed though.

but the physics shit was actually mildly interesting (and silly at the same time)

Well now I am in that alien ship floating around fighting the giant squids. The game has now become very, very meh.

The alien ship part is the worst part in my opinion - it might've been better if it didn't feel like the movement was so sluggish through that part. That part also gave me a headache and confused me on where I was going.

Not sure why, but I just hate the way they have done the alien ship level - the zero gravity was ok for awhile, but for the most part I just find the level more of a chore than entertainment. And I see what GKY meant about weapons - you get ammo for the SCAR in about 3 missions, otherwise its all FR71 and some minigun action at the end. Weapons were a big letdown overall.

Well I liked the gauss rifle, most satisfying weapon overall in my opinion... it's true they don't give enough ammo for alot of parts which sucks though.

Ah, I urge you to finish it for shits and giggles. But once you get out of the cave, be prepared for the generic 'man vs alien invasion' battle with cinematic sequences and lots of explosions. It's much better than the cave crap, but not as good as the non-linear tactical assault in the first half.
