After reading all the pro-pot posts, I'm curious to know if your mind is made up, NS.

The weight of the pro- arguments rest upon such tenants as "but alcohol is bad too" and "it will relax you," which are powerful arguments if you're chronically stressed and / or a heavy drinker.

I assume you're still on an injury hiatus from training right now, but do you some day hope to get back on track, and if so are you concerned about maintaining focus?

as for the relaxation argument, is meditation out of style or something?

So he'll lose his focus on training if he smokes a spliff? What other reasons are there that he shouldn't do it?

nothing wrong with moderate pot smoking. i smoke roughly a quarter ounce every two months. that works out to a few puffs every other day.

usually when my little one has gone to bed i go out the back door, have a quick puff and play some tf2.

Ryoki wrote:I'm always puzzled by non smokers thinking smokers keep trying to quit. We don't, we hate quitting, it sucks big time.

I mean it when i say second serious attempt - i've only once gone through this godawful shit before with the serious intention of not starting again.

The few other times i temporarily ceased smoking were after sickness / extreme colds - and they were not serious...
I stopped smoking fer 3 years. I saw non-smokers and ex-smokers and how they behave when a smoker fire's one up. Read an article on how this woman in Seattle was complaining about all the second hand smoke from the people smoking on the sidewalk cause they can't smoke inside anymore. She wanted the state to outlaw smoking anywhere in public. Smokers are treated like criminals. So, I started smoking again. And I hope people don't like it! >:D

Matter of fact, I'm gonna go put the second-hand cancer gas down on anyone standing 10 feet from the entrance RIGHT PHUQ'NG NOW!

Actually, my mind was made up before I posted this thread. I have no plans to become a total stoner again, just thought I might like to slap a decent buzz on and play some CoD4. I really can't see casual herb intake interfering with my training, I'd have to smoke a shitload for it to affect my cardio (which sucks atm anyways). Besides, Eddie Bravo extolls the virtues of rolling while high. :olo:

furthermore, like cigarettes...there is a conspiracy to cover up the ill effects it causes.

productivity would plummet if they exposed it.

Do the nicotine patches/gum/etc. help much or have you ever tried them?

Never tried them. I quit for six years cold turkey but was stupid enough to start up the day I landed in Europe. :dork:
I'll quit for good soon...I'm just lazy.
