Finished MegaMan 4 last night. Took around 4 hours (over span of a day)...I don't usually keep track of the time but 4 has a built in "time played" clock. I've been on a Mega Man kick as of late, finishing 2 and 3 a couple days ago. I found 3 a bit tough, 4 more so, probably because I didn't play much of them when I was younger (compared to 1 and 2) so I didn't know the robots weaknesses. The addition of slide in the two games helped alot. Rush is pretty cool though I don't like what they did to his "jet" in 4 compared to 3's. You can't control him at will. 4 introduces the ability to charge your buster and some aquired powers from the robots...using this seems crucial on some bosses which I had a trial and error time with. I will be moving on to Mega Man 5 soon.
hmmph from MM4 wiki: The record for fastest completion (55:54.000), as given by Twin Galaxies, is held by Kevin Tukey.
And before those games I played either Atlantis or SeaQuest off the Activision Anthology...
The last game you played
Re: The last game you played
Currently playing through Bioshock.
I like the art direction, like the story telling, mostly like the Unreal-engine graphics, although some surfaces tend to look quite plasticky.
I would be bitching about claustrophobic map editing if that wouldn't be exactly what the setting demands, so clever choice there, and it works really well with some more roomy areas allowing you to look at the aquatic surroundings.
Gameplay relies heavily on upgrading your attack/health/mumbojumbo-skills.
You can search just about everything for booty which can then be converted at the various upgrade machines.
So, that basically spells out the obsessive, compulsive, grinding, wet dream.
At least, I find myself calculating more than surviving.
Really enjoying it though, like to find out what happens next, and can't wait for it to be over.

if i have a few minutes to kill i'll load this game up for shits and giggles. if you like grinding ALL_FUCKING_DAY_LONG then you'll love this shit heap of a game.
super mario sunshine 6.5/10
this game has SO MUCH potential but too many technical issues get in the way of making it a real enjoyable experience. the camera sucks, the spacey-floaty jumping star maps are just plain retarded and the levels are bland. the only real challenge the game offers is putting up with the BS of trying to navigate through crappy level design with a camera the player constantly has to battle with; there's nothing more frustrating than taking 10 minutes to climb a huge ass mountain only to slip on some paint and fall to your doom.

glad someone agrees on the mario camera issues
Re: The last game you played
I liked the atmosphere,..matter of fact it worked so well, I almost dreaded playing it because it felt so uninviting...at this point I wasn't having fun in the proverbial meaning, rather it was a kind of nightmare that kept taunting me to finish it.Grudge wrote:S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl - 9/10*...
But I had a huge

I just think that they failed at giving a player the feeling that it's ok to start fucking around and doing all the cool off plot stuff we promised you....it just felt like I was in a line of actions that kinda forced me to go forward.
Matter of fact my surprise that the game had actually completely ended after the main story line, really made me resent the game all together.

Played that craptastic instant action fallen empires tribes game.
/ 10. The right mouse button kept popping up the browser menu, and it seems like the games are hosted by other browser plugins
Got Age of Conan. Verdict is still out until i get past mount n00b, but the combat is fucking awesome and it doesn't look like a cartoon.
Also, while I was waiting for it to install (my 5 year old DVD drive apparently reads dual-layer dvds.... slowly. it took nearly 4 hours to install AoC), I booted up crawl again. Rating free games seems kind of pointless, but it's awesome / 10, and you can play it on anything. Hard as fuck, too.
I also played with myself. 10/10, would do so again.

Re: The last game you played
Downloaded Trackmania Nations Forever off Steam since it's fucking free. I dig arcade racing action and this is pretty sweet.

Are they're any other decent arcade racing games for the PC (free or otherwise)? especially that have a more full featured single player experience?

Re: The last game you played
Anyone play the lost game yet? Watched a couple of reviews and neither seemed to praise it very much, was thinking about picking it up earlier but thought I would try and find a demo first...
