It somehow shits all over his character, and what i thought it stood for.... which up to now I had found, cool, collected and calculated while still keeping a higher ethic than the people around him in the drug scene.
He has lowered himself to their level which could accurately be described as nothing more than self serving and uninhibitedly destructive.
He said it himself, if it's a choice between any other drug chemist and himself/jessie, then he'll choose the latter every time. Obviously he's self-serving, he was about to get blown away :olo:

Of course it's morally ambiguous. That's the whole point of the show anyway. We liked the dealers on the Wire for exactly the same reason. Even the most abhorrent person isn't bad all the time. I doubt we'll get a happy ending in this show either.

Yea I think the departure from the old Walt was inevitable. I've seen it as a progression from "square" to full-on criminal and I think we're going to keep seeing him sliding down into darkness until it is the end of him.

I agree with this, it's been a slow downward spiral.
Glad the show's back anyway, nice first ep :)

Solid show. Two weeks ago I bought all 3 seasons and have been hooked, thanks to this thread

God damn I hate Skylar. And wtf is up with Marie? Will the notebook remind Hank of Heisenburg?

It's certainly a slow start to the season, even by Breaking Bad's standards. C'mon Heisenberg, ruin some peoples shit already.

Eps 3+4 have been pretty boring. Ep. 4 was slightly better. "Aren't you going to ask where we're going?"
"Nope."

I like Mike's character, I feel like he could have been played by George Carlin (pbuh) if he were still alive.

Also the last episode of season 3 had one of the best lines in TV ever: "<Gale's address> ... Yeah."

BB always did like to take things slow though. The buildups are sustained for as long as they can and just as you're in danger of losing interest, you get scenes like that epic car shooting with Hank. That whole moment wouldn't have been anywhere near as effective were it not for the suspense leading up to it.

I think it's pretty obvious that the back end of this particular season is going to be absolutely insane. If it means a bit more dialogue foreplay and rock (sorry, mineral) collecting until the shit really does get real, then i'm down with it.

probably, this is how it will play on the mobile platform (replace gun with finger) or they just added that bit of prop cause that's what the BrBa producer was looking for, to make that flashback tie in better.

edit

or there will be a wii version :olo:

That wasn't a flashback, I thought that was just present time.

Yeah. Made me doubt whether this season will be about the deal with gus going wrong which is what i've been assuming so far. Maybe the greater evil is the other cartel.
