And oh hey the thompson gun is pretty awesome :D

It appears that Zero Punctuation has absolutely trashed this game:

He's not in love with it, but compared to a lot of his reviews that was a complete love fest.

He makes some good points, though. And he's funny as shit.

Yeah, he kept bitching about the single player which honestly makes up about 2% of the entire game.

What a spastic tard.

Zero Punctuation has said several times that he only reviews the single player aspect of games and never reviews the multiplayer portions.

I guess some of you spastic retards didn't notice that when he mentioned it countless times in his other reviews.

Heh yeh, i played the single player mode for something like 5 minutes before it bored me :)

Observations: a light machine gun with a scope and heavy barrel is scarily accurate if you stick to two or three round bursts, like an automatic sniper rifle

And landmines are sooo much fun, it's unreal... lately i've been using them to trick bad guys when defending: just leave a few in a wooden shack, hide in it, take a few potshots at approaching enemies and before long they get close and try to flush you out with a handgranade... by then of course you will have fled and the wooden shack blows up with an unexpected large explosion, usually taking the granade thrower and maybe his squaddies with it :D

Good info there, here's the range and damage charts.

M60 w/red dot FTW! I tried it with the scope last night, too much recoil.

Good to see MMOFPS players nerding it up as bad as MMORPG players.

Having agreed in my mind that this spec is possible rockage, i tried it out repeatedly today. No succes though... the thompson is the thompson, can't say anything negative about that....well, maybe that its a bit light and you can easily waste a full precious clip on an enemy with armor before they go down. But the handgun choice: how do you manage to squeeze off more than 1 shot with it before you're dead..? Recoil on the MP412 is just terrible, i am completely unable to reacquire my target before he does same to me. Gief the M1911, i'm pretty decent with one of those :owned:

In the end it was the C4 that got me in the most trouble though, it seems i can never apply it fast enough to escape retaliation :( But maybe more practice is in order.

Regarding M60 (or XM8) with scope or red dot, i find the recoil is indeed pretty bad with a scope, but with a red dot imo you can't see far enough to be very useful as a countersniper / cover provider / what have you. It only adds to your accuracy a bit, while what you want is to be able to put down accurate fire over distances people won't be expecting. Stick with one or two shots a squeeze and the results can be impressive :)

My favourite spec so far is Engineer + PP2000 (such a cute and effective little gun!) + M1911 (or target painter, depending on situation) + extra explosives + extra explosives damage. Find myself resorting to this spec in a lot of different situations

Have you tried aiming with the MP-412? :p I've sort of fallen out of love with that combo, trying different shotguns now with the slugs and magnum ammo. Memph was right, it's a fucking railgun, just don't miss.
I am having similar difficulties with the C4 against armored vehicles. I've played countless games of "OMG I HOPE I CAN RUN IN CIRCLES SLAPPING C4 ON HIM FASTER THAN HE CAN TRAVERSE HIS TURRET" only to be shot dead by his squaddie that jumped out when I wasn't looking. :olo:

Okay three things that are starting to annoy me:

What is the deal with the adult language filter, does anyone know if it can be disabled somehow..? I noticed it's broken and shitty. For instance, the phrase 'can u swap teams' gets censored because the word filter recognises the word 'anus'... Meanwhile, the ingame voices are all fucking this and motherfucking that, but it's not allowed for me to say 'damn'? Riiight. I totally don't understand why they put in a word filter in the first place, it makes me sad :(

Favourite servers. Is it too much to ask to put a button somewhere that sais 'add a favourite server'? How did they not notice this obvious mistake before they declared the game finished..? The mind boggles. Anyone know how this is done..?

And lastly but most importantly: FIX THE GODDAMN VOICE COMS YOU CUNTS. With this also, i am stunned they apparently didn't notice this feature is broken before shipping the game. Wtf Dice?

so yeh, there.

i tried the single player and I absolutely hated the mouse movement... sure every one cries about the SP but you can't excuse the homo mouse feel which is the same as mp

Well have you tried messing with the mouse settings? :smirk: I upped the sensativity a bit on mine, it helped.

And don't bother with the SP man, multiplayer is where it's at.

I felt the same at first, then adjusted a few things in the config (namely the god damn horrible fov as well as a few mouse tweaks) and it was fine. It just takes a little getting used to, but by the end of the game it really was a non-issue.

Still can't beat the quake and l4d games for getting mouse aim *perfect* though :)
