Think he was pretty lucky to have a sniff, or unlucky seeing as he did'nt have much of a chance in the end
Very strange race and a pretty strange season also, was alreet, Alonso impressed me the most I think, would have preferred Hamilton to stay at McLaren but hope it opens the grid up for next season with Kimi getting a contending set of wheels

He totally had a chance, Vettel came back at him from a bigger deficit in 2010. I can't believe Vettel was able to continue after that first lap crash that was so hard, what a lucky mfer.

that's what i was referring to.... I thought that vettel was out of commission at the start. But vettel is good apparently...his car held up and made up the time lost.

Da fuck? 10th place: Now known as top 3?
Holy christ did I laugh when Hulkenberg clouted Hamilton!

That drive-through penalty was total bullshit, it was a racing incident, nothing more. That was one hell of a drive from the Hulk, when he passed Button and started walking away from him I was speechless. That dude can drive, even though he clearly had more wing on the car than the Mclarens.
Vettel is the fucking man! Great race, great season, fuck Alonso, and fuck Hamilton! Oh, and I guess QQ, no more Schumi.
edit: Massa's back, bitches!

Yeah, third place overall in the driver's championship is known as top 3.

I am their biggest fan but I felt for Hamilton and Alonso yesterday. Vettel was the luckiest guy in F1 at Turn 4. Firstly if it wasn’t for Kimi being super fucking awesome as usual (Fuck you Nightshade – he is :P) he would have been collected by him If it had been anyone less experienced he would have gone into the back of Vettel for sure. Then Vettel drove into Senna who was on the correct racing line going round the corner and Vettel came from well wide and cut in on him. I don’t buy all this “I was hit and spun around” bullshit. It is there for everyone to see, you drove into Senna my friend. It wasn’t on purpose, obviously, but it
was his fault. His left rear took a massive clout and the suspension was undamaged (amazingly)and then he wasn’t hit by anyone else coming around which was amazing. Staggering in fact.
But what happened after that was not luck at all. It was an assured and measured drive. Almost Prost like in fairness. I am well aware that he wants to be likened to Ayrton Senna but he was extremely pragmatic during the final 20 laps of the race. He knew Jenson had the lead covered so he took his 6th place (thank you Schumi) and then stuck to it knowing it was good enough. Coming back through the pack like he did after getting spun around was amazing and I think that he proved his doubters, myself included, that he is a great driver. Yes the car is arguably the fastest on the grid but it still takes something else to be able to keep your cool and race like that under such intense pressure, knowing Alonso was right up in the mix. I bet his engineer didn’t tell Vettel that Alonso was in the championship winning position but I think he would have known anyway.
Also Massa’s return to form is most welcome given how tough he has had it since 2009. I think he was faster than Alonso over the last 2 races, which is quite incredible. As much as I am not a massive Ferrari fan, they have done well this season given where they were at the start. I expect a few changes throughout the team over winter, though. They cannot start a season with a car that bad again. I know there have been issues with the wind tunnel results being different to the CFD results and then the practical finding have different again, but there is a fundamental flaw with the car.
McLaren will take a lot of heart from the way the car development has gone over this season and the way the season has finished. They, in my eyes, have the best car in terms of race pace and qualifying. They just need to maintain the work now given the regulation changes next season are nominal. Button can, I think, challenge for another world title next season and Perez will do well as long as he stays out of trouble. But he is in for a massive shock. I am aware he has already gone to McLaren and done some fitness tests and they have told him that he falls way short of what they expect and they expect him to work hard and get fit.
Hamilton will have a good 2013 season as I believe that all development went to the 2013 car as soon as he signed on the dotted line. I think the updates brought to this last few races were in the pipe line a while ago and if there had been another 4 races of this season, nothing new would have been brought along. Like Ferrari, there is something wrong with the car at base level. It chews its tyres and it looks unstable. The drivers had no confidence in the way it behaved and it showed. The coanda style exhaust system has never worked and they put too much emphasis on the double DRS system which red herring.
Goodbye HRT – I hope someone takes you over, preferably an American buyer so there is an America team. I think that would be brilliant for F1 and it would be great for the American fans too.
2012 - what a season. Only 110days til it kick off again

I see, thought you were talking about the GP itself.
Did you happen to catch Kimi's little trip to nowhere after he spun?

So Vettel could be under investigation for passing under a yellow flag (no, not that one on Kobi, another one on lap 4).
They would have to give the same penalty as they did to Hamilton in 2009 if they found him guilty which would mean a 20 second penalty which would make him....8th.
Uh oh.....

That one ?, it's kinda obvious he overtakes after 2 yellow flags, thought the kobi one was just as bad though ?

That's the one.
FIA confirmed that Kobi overtake was yellow and orange which is a slippery track, but it doesn't mean you can't overtake...

It'll be interesting to see how they handle this as they have to remain consistent. A president was set with Hamilton and anything other than the exact same penalty will be seen as favouritism.
Also you need to think of the Todd effect too given his previous allegiance to Ferarri.
This has "massive mess" written all over it and if Vettel is given the penalty that should be given it will be damaging for Todd and Ferarri through no fault of their own.

Didn't the SPEED crew talk about this during the race? I thought it was weird that they'd have those flashing lights that looked THAT MUCH like a local yellow, but...

All his passes were legit. There were a few yellow light ones that were actually yellow/red lights, and another one on vergne on the back straight where the lights showed yellow but a marshal was waving green at the beginning of the straight.
