The Manager we were sending emails to has disappeared

so we have a new "
Nathan" to interact with.
We did have another carpet company come in last weekend and quote for repair or replace. Guess what? They can't repair so we have gone for a new install and lodged a deposit, much like me and my W7 Ultimate OS after some video Code 37 problems in Device Manager
So I am going to reinstall W7. Wish me luck

on all fronts

Didn't need to install W7 thankfully.
Got a letter from the insurance company just now and haven't opened....
They have said so much over the 'phone and email that they won't entertain further so looks like we'll be taking legal/Ombudsman action.
Oh, yes, did I advise?
We had another carpet company come in and quote, they can't repair so it is a complete relay of new carpet
Yes TruthfulLiar over carpet

Good news. The insurance company has handed us off to their complaints department.
The case manager has asked for photos before the new stuff was put down to confirm our assertion we are worse off now.
Guess what?
We have them

Silly me took photos of the empty rooms

No joins at all (visible). Hooray.
Email sent off & photos attached... feeling good

You should also send some pics to Boston.com so they can put it in their "year in photos" spread.

Guess what? Their complaints department ain't worth comment, but FYI their final response
.....will be maintaining the decision and will not authorise an additional replacement of your carpet....
plained wrote:u just keep doing what they want!
youll tire out soon

So we will have our new carpet laid soon, throwing out the new stuff they ask us to live with and take the buggers to court for compensation/costs
EDIT:
I will be sure to take photos (again) before and after and the new lay (sexual as it sounds) is on Aug 30 and then 2 days later we're off OS
Maybe right there plained

Busy moving all our stuff ready for a new carpet install tomorrow.
Looking forward to a job that doesn't look like crap.
I will take lots of photos, before and after the fight the bastards

for recompense/ compensation, and yes I accept it may take a while, but karma is wonderful

If you've been following the story you'd know that the join/difference in that carpet was too much for us to live with so the new new carpet went in yesterday on the same underlay and it simply looks FANTASTIC
Different company supplying and a different installation crew: Looks like it made a world of difference.
I saw the new stuff go down and I am still trying to see where they joined some pieces.
Really hard to spot any joins or difference in carpet textures at all
Nice to have a good job done finally & thankfully.
Yes, I know we paid out of our own pockets about $5k for this and the previous was an insurance replacement job, but still one should not have to accept inferior workmanship and/or product just because and insurance company screws over some small business to get the cheapest price, and the Customer suffers
It will take a couple of months but we intend to take this to higher authorities simply for justice and if we get a few dollars back, good & well.
We're now off OS for 2 weeks
PS: My heath is on the mend too, again thankfully

Good to hear Whiskey! For a moment I thought this whole carpet thing would spiral out of control and you'd end up in the gutter selling your body and shooting heroin. Glad this danger has been averted!
Oh and never forget, insurance companies are crooks, frauds and villains

Ask your lawyer if you can also sue for emotional distress if you have actually been to the doctor for issues with depression. Save any paperwork that you have.
