wut... it's not like "using" those requires a sign up process that takes 3 days and four forms to fill in.

I think what plained means is that you appear to have a very strange mindset concerning all of this.

Seriously considering to put 8 gig movies on a tablet and expecting to see and hear better quality? When informed this is actually quite silly, you say you want to convert those movies instead of simply downloading them in a better format? Expressing the desire to be concious for the duration of a flight in the first place?

This is all highly unusual and a bit fucking weird to be honest man.

I have an idea though; just get the one with the mostest memory and put those 8 gig files on there and let's not speak any more of this.

Ok, let's clear a few things up then;

I do not download stuff so have no way of get these other files, hence wanting to covert them.

My flights are at odd times and it makes more sense to stay awake so I can sleep when I get to my destinations and then get up without too much jet lag. That way I make the most of the time I'm at my locations

Does that make things a little less strange to you?

U4EA - books make me want to sleep when reading in a darkened environment. Pity as I do have quite a few books to read at the moment.

Ryoki - I've known several people get done over the downloading of films and music of late. Just being cautious

$10 says DC buys a tablet the day before his flight because he couldn't make up his mind, stays up late trying to convert/copy his movie collection to the tablet, then exhausted, falls asleep on the plane and doesn't actually use it.

Seriously though, it's soon to be page 4 now... just go to the store, spend 15 minutes playing around with a few and just buy one. You're not having a baby, you don't need to start planning for its university/college fund.

Protip, just buy a tablet, then buy 4-5 movies through itunes, amazon, or google that are specifically made for your device. I guarantee you wont even make it through those...or skip the thing all together.

You think you need it, but once you're traveling you're not going to want to watch some stupid movie you can watch at home anytime you want. Take in the full experience around you, get a window seat, people watch. Tablets and movies are for mundane everyday train rides not for once in a lifetime trips.

donny have you got a decent camera? if not, sack off the tablet and get a Nikon D3200 with a kit lens for a similar price - entry-level DSLR, captures HD video (and takes pretty sweet pix too). make your own movies
