A lot of those cards are 3 slots. Graphics cards are getting beefy...

No surprise. The Founders Editions are just dirty money grabs. I'm sure nVidia could create the fastest reference board ever, but they probably don't to keep an incentive for 3rd party manufacturers to create their own.

Need is pretty subjective when you can always turn graphics down to potato level. I have a 1440p ultra-wide and a 1440p 144hz monitor. I use every ounce of power to maintain acceptable framerates at a decent quality. Nothing has changed from a year ago other than there being a cheaper gfx card with the same amount of power. The same thing that has happened since the dawn of computing. Your argument is stupid.

Shaft has a Titan X, no point in upgrading to Pascal until the 1080ti is available sometime next spring. I'm gonna try and get the MSI Twin Frozr 1080 when it's available in Canada, should be a significant upgrade over 2x 4GB 770s.
