My belief system is like a scale, the probability of things being true will rise and fall based on any new information.

For aliens visiting earth I went from no, pretty much for the reasons that most of you have brought up, to maybe in the past few years based on the things that pilots and former govt guys have been saying.

Part of the reason a lot of people don't come out might be based on 'need to know'. if you're contracted to work on this stuff you only work on a very small piece of it with not much knowledge about anything else. The people who do get a glimpse of the bigger picture might think it futile to come out with it because nobody will believe them anyways and they'll be ridiculed.

There really is no definitive proof, but it's really hard to speculate the motives of something so advanced and not human. They might have a piece of information that we don't and maybe we have, or will have a bigger impact on the universe than we think.

Yeah, it's a good point but there could still be a number factors with that as well. Can a tiny ass govt like Estonia be bullied by a larger govt like the US if they find out about that sort of thing, and how common are alien ship crashes? Is it really a conspiracy and coverup by governments or is it the aliens decision to not be found out?

Perhaps in most circumstances of a ship crash the aliens are capable of covering it up themselves excluding rare circumstances when a local govt is able to get there first. Maybe the truth is somewhere in between where there were never any crashes or cadavers, but it still doesn't mean they don't visit. There's pretty much an excuse for everything like religion cuz nobody knows what the heck they would be capable of if they exist and it's hard to tell fact from fiction.

All I know is that the eye witness testimony from pilots and the fact that the govt appears to be more open about the idea makes me reconsider things a bit.

The problem with the claim that there have been alien visits, without having anything to show for it is that it changes exactly nothing. It puts you in the exact same spot as the idea that aliens haven't visited us (yet). The difference is that the visited-by-aliens theory requires a truckload of assumptions to fully close itself up.

i wonder how much there'd be left of a body after a crash, especially when you consider the enormous speeds that would be involved. also, the top 3 places by area to crash accidentally would be:

1. the ocean
2. muh russia
3. canadialand

and anyway how would they come to crash land in the first place? what manoeuvre would they be carrying out that - if it went wrong - would lead to a crash? i mean, we land probes on other celestial bodies remotely and generally they survive intact. are the aliens drunk? is it like some kind of Ferris Bueller's Day Off type joyride?
