It took years to get rid of Heskey. They then replaced him with an even bigger donkey. Defoe? No. Bent? No. Beattie? No. A human pipe-cleaner? Yes!

i dont understand why people rail on crouch all the time. i think he's a creative player with his passing (relative to the other english players). and he's a huge target in the air.

the midfield was a huge problem for england. the only thing england could really do well was stuff off the dead ball. why take out the one guy (aside from terry) that can really capitalize on them?

anyway, the english team should have been built around gerrard. the midfield was the real problem. i think people were so focused on the front line having problems that they ignored the midfield (for the most part).
