Okay, that sounds retarded.

I hope you at least keep it very well concealed, for the safety of everybody who has to be around you in public.

Of course I keep it well concealed. That's why it's called a "Concealed Weapons Permit" and it's also the law. And why does carrying a gun frequently sound retarded? Why get a permit if you're not going to use it? Don't you think every person would avoid every situation that would get them shot and killed? I do. Especially if they KNEW it was going to happen. What you're basically saying is, "You're going to have sex with numerous strangers and wear a condom. That's retarded." Well help me out Nostradamus. When should I carry?

i'm pretty sure i wouldn't carry if i lived in a country/state that allowed that, but i can appreciate the level of personal freedom that makes that possible. it puts the freedom-hating faggotry of the british government into even more perspective than usual

With how society is today I'd much rather be prepared. Do I think I'll ever have to use my weapon? No. But I do have the comfort of knowing that if I needed to I could.

Yeah, with violent crime rates steadily declining for the past 30 years, I know exactly how you feel.

The ultimate stereotype. :olo:

Never mind the trolls.

Look at the data I posted and justify your position based on empirical facts. Life in the United States is significantly safer than 30 years ago. Justify "With how society is today..." based on that.

Burglary and theft are up, which happens to be what I'd be concerned about. And with the economy the way that it is, I wouldn't be surprised if those things got worse. There are also the 1,382,000 violent crimes and 16,000 murder to be considered as well.

Here's an idea for YOU. Don't carry a fucking gun. That'll fix everything in your little world. :olo:

It seems you are having trouble reading the data in graph form. Let me read it for you.

The last time burglary was lower than 2008 was in 1968.

The last time theft was lower than 2008 was 1973.

I'm not having problems at all. Your chart says the amount of Burgluries has contiuned to rise since 1999 and there were more thefts in 2008 than in 2007.

The plain facts with CCW is statistically you're never going to have to use it defensively.

That said, I'm glad there are responsible people who CCW in the event someone starts shooting up wherever I am.

Some people are going goofy over him carrying all of the time, but (very dependent on where you are in the US) more people carry than you think, you just don't know it. Some CCW carriers get hard-ons for how well they can hide it, I've seen it on some gun forums. Also, many people carry in their car too but not necessarily always on their person.

Simply put: I'm of the opinion that any country where people either carry guns on their person (as often as they wear underwear) or people feel that they NEED to carry a gun...well...that place is a little fucked in the head.

You appear to be having trouble with the concept of per capita. I can understand how you missed it, since it is only taught from the 7th grade on in various gov't, civics and economics classes all the way through COLLEGE. The part of that page you want to be looking at is "United States Crime Index Rates Per 100,000 Inhabitants"
Rate of burglaries:
1999: 770.4
2000: 728.8
2001: 741.8
2002: 747.0
2003: 741.0
2004: 730.3
2005: 726.9
2006: 729.4
2007: 722.5
2008: 730.8

The point is you are safer now than you have EVER BEEN in your entire pathetic, ignorant, bigoted, red-neck life, but you still feel the need to justify carrying and extra dick around in your pocket with ignorant statements like "With how society is today..."

YG, would you mind detailing a couple of examples of times you might have to use your gun where the CCW would benefit you? I don't mean this like a dick, I'm genuinely curious as to what kind of situations you might come upon and how you see it playing out with you having the gun.

Listen up, ass face. I understand per capita just fine. But just because fewer people are commiting crimes doesn't take away from the fact that more crimes are being commited. Do you understand that?

Now look up. Is there a lit light bulb over your head? I sure hope so.

To be honest, I've never felt the need to draw my handgun. When would I use it? Whenever my life or someone else's life was in danger. I may also draw it in a situation where I felt physically threatened. However, I sincerely hope I never have to use it.
