The last movie you saw
Re: The last movie you saw
The Losers - Flawed, dumb macho silliness. Enjoyed.
Solomon Kane - Just couldn't care enough about the characters to give a shit. Nice monster. Extra points for Pete Postlethwaite.

Clash of Titans .. 8/10 good clean fun
Percy Jackson..The Lightning Thief.. 5/10 has it's moments but kind of dumb especially every word out of Homey Goat boi
The Bounty Hunter .. 3/10 .. but Jennifer Aniston is always gawkable
The Road .. 6/10 .. hated I am Legend but this is slightly better.Coke Cola must have paid a fortune for the product placement
Alice in Wonderland .. 8/10 .. loved every minute of it. Loved the fat twins played by that funny Brit guy on the funniest tv show coming out of the yUK.
Sexy Teen Ebony Cheerleaders .. 1/10 .. very bad acting but many sexy nude teen ebony cheerleaders doing sexy nude teen ebony cheerleaders

"Taking Chance" 8/10. Short and basic but I cried. Kevin Bacon in a story about the Marine Corps protocol to bring a dead soldier's remains home. Nice movie for Memorial Day.
Re: The last movie you saw
Saw Valkyrie yesterday. Not bad.
Re: The last movie you saw
Saw The Salton Sea last night.
OK flick, with interesting plot and nice visuals, but I just can't stand Val Kilmer with his fat face, pouty lips and bunny teeth.
Would have been a 7/10 with someone like Guy Pearce/Ethan Hawke/Christian Bale as protagonist.

ditto. i couldn't understand why it never occurred to the conspirators to use the 'palestinian method' regards the bomb. i mean, they knew they'd face certain death if they failed, so why not die knowing they succeeded? i mean, fucking tom cruise was standing right next to hitler in one scene. why didn't he just finish him off then?Eraser wrote:Saw Valkyrie yesterday. those pillocks failed because they wanted to succeed and live to talk about it. as a result half of europe got the shit fucked out of it. FAIL
Re: The last movie you saw
Yeah I enjoyed Valkyrie. It got a lot of stick over here for not being accurate but it was still an enjoyable movie.

Edge of Darkness
Despite the fact that I HATE HATE HATE bahston accents in movies, this movie was pretty darn good.

I feel Korean movies either have great endings, or horrible, infuriating ones
I love quake!

Very well done IMO, but being directed by Ridley Scott I expected no less
In short a great movie and given the chance I'd see again, no probs

La Habitacion de Fermat (English title - Fermat's Room)

Spanish maths thriller. Four maths bods who entered a competition to solve a maths enigma are trapped in a room and fed maths problems via a PDA. If they fail to solve the problem in under a minute, the four walls of the room start to contract. It reminded me a little of cube, it had lots of suspense, the plot twists were well placed and well timed and the story progresses well. Excellent acting too.

Shutter Island.
Quite good, Leonardo di Paprica is really getting into his acting stride, unlike Mark Ruffalo who's as wooden as ever.
The 'mind fuck' is quite obvious from the beginning for observing viewers, but enjoyable flick nevertheless.

finally saw Up in the Air - pretty good... always like a film that doesn't try too hard for a happy ending. 8/10 if only for Vera Formiga's unexpectedly nice ass.

Sadly I think I read in a review, or somewhere similar, that she had an ass double because she'd just pumped out a crotch spawn.menkent wrote:finally saw Up in the Air - pretty good... always like a film that doesn't try too hard for a happy ending. 8/10 if only for Vera Formiga's unexpectedly nice ass.

la horde - 6/10
still more than passable french (fast) zombie movie that doesn't really bring anything new to the table. although it might just have been lost in translation, it didn't feel like the characters or the group were ever really developed - but the action is pretty much constant and it's got one of the best last stand scenes ever, which is worth the price of the ticket/rental/bandwidth alone. if they'd spent some time making you care about the guy first it would have been properly awesome.
the men who stare at goats - 8/10
dramatisation of jon ronson's book that has all the charm and likeability he fails to achieve on paper, mainly because the book has his creepy bloody punch-me face on the back.
