Predators.

Adrian Brody is completely miscast. Give us back our action heroes, this is like DRuM being the hero.

It doesn't really matter though because the film is utter spunk biscuits.

bugger, was sort of looking forward to that :(
wish rodriguez had directed it himself instead of bringing in the shitehouse that made 'armoured'. btw,.

armoured - 2/10
unbelievable and charmless action drama where a few decent actors have all been given the wrong parts to play; maybe the director helped cast brody for predators.
watched it (and 'the box', which is also crap) on the plane back from oz to stop myself from looking at the backfat of another passenger spilling over either side of their seat a couple of rows ahead.

what i could see was horrible, couldn't tell if it was male or female. when i had to get up to use the bathroom, i wasn't brave enough to look directly at where a face would be. there was a powerbook perched on its chestfolds and it was using some over-elaborate media browser to flip through episodes of 'burn notice' and photos that were all of the same sickly-looking child in front of queensland tourist destinations. don't think it wasn't actually watching the shows or looking at the pictures, just flipping from one item to the next and moving the powerbook around frequently to make sure everyone could see what it was doing - might've been obsessive-compulsive, a territorial thing or a mating ritual, i don't know.

back in my seat and for a moment i thought it had thalidomide-like vestigial limbs above its 'arms'. on closer inspection, before i returned to watching cameron diaz try to serious, it became obvious that they were just overlapping rolls of neck and shoulder fat that had spilled out of the sleeves of its t-shirt.

Weird, RT gives it a pretty high rank.

The problem with Rotten Tomotes is that an OK review will show as a ripe tomato. So if the reviewer gives it 6 out of 10 and says it's an "average action film" for example, then that will show as a positrive review. If every review is the same that might then show as 100% positive when in fact it's 100% average.

To be fair, Predators isn't utter shit. It's just very very average, with a terribly miscast lead star. It also breaks the golden rule for this sort of film... The characters have to be likeable. You really need to want them to survive otherwise it's pointless. I just wanted all of these to die painfully apart from the Russian guy.

Also, the Predators are useless.

I agree with Pauly. Predators was an average effort with a bland result. Hopefully Machete will be much better. :)

Predators - 5/10

*SPOILERS*

I had lots of issues with this, the biggest being the size of the Predators. Kevin Peter Hall was massive. He even looked massive when stood next to Arnie (nearly a foot taller I think? Poor pic I know)

Image

2 tiers of Preds in the film, the Pred we know and love and the Big Daddy ones. Seemed to me that the only difference what the head gear. Rubbish.

I thought Broady did a fantastic job as lead man...he does not have the stature of Arnie and he knew it, but he did rip up some and then ensure he was cold and calculated throughout. The killing of the "doc" being a prime example.

There was some good and some very bad and it ensures that the film is entirely average. Pity really...

Freaks (1932) 7/10

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0022913/

It's interesting that Tod Browning cast real side show freaks for this film. And the scene at the end where the freaks are crawling through the mud is truly disturbing...

Hot Tub Time Machine - 6/10

Tons of cock jokes. Almost like a film version of Q3W, except funny.

Clash of the Titans - 6.5/10

It was good.

Predators - Fantastic/10.

Honestly, those of you crying, ask yourself why...? What was you honestly expecting? Yes, it had its flaws, yes, its not perfect... But it wasn't supposed to be. It was supposed to be an 80's throwback, a sequel made in the same style, pace and method of the original.

If you went it looking for Shindlers List, its your own fault you were burned. Me, I went it hoping for another Predator film, and found myself enjoying it.

It had action. Predators. Shit blowing up. A few muscle bound men who were total idiots. Gore and awesome music. I didn't expect anything more, and got everything I wanted.

Good film.

That's good as I am yes to see it here :smirk:

Just got back from seeing Night and Day ... The Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz one.

Yes pretty impressed I might say as I thought a Cruise /Diaz movie would suck but it didn't. Very entertaining... 8/10

I don't know what you fucking morons are on about. I seriously think you're all being wankers and just hating on Predators just for the sake of being a hater or if you aren't a fan of the original. And by that I mean having seen the original as a kid in the cinema and truly experiencing it's awesomeness. Nothing will beat the original and Predators has it's flaws but it shits all over Predator 2, AvP and AvP2.

If you experienced and loved the original as a kid you will enjoy Predators. Don't listen to these elitist faggots.

don't believe the old man, knight&day was rubbish. predictable, unfunny, and cartoonish. only redeeming aspect was the minute or so of diaz in a bikini (also predictable).
