Well duh, who directed both Aliens and Avatar?

I agree btw, the template for that archetype is Vasquez from Aliens. Incidentally also the first movie with the 'group of people who don't really like each other bond because terrors from beyond the grave hunt them and then they all get killed in terrible ways except one' plotline, which has been done to death ever since.

This is a hilarious book, but I don't think a movie could do it justice.

err, not sure which version of aliens you saw but the above didn't happen in the film we've all watched.

When generalizing, never become too specific.

Inception.
Might as well have called it Shutter Island 2, same lead role and everything. This movie is The Matrix, Shutter Island, Star Trek TNG episode 'The Inner Light', another TNG episode where Deana is the only one who can dream and has to give a 1 word message to sleep aliens, and takes some ideas from Memento which was also written by Nolan *shocker*. The movie was cool, but it was more like watching Kill Bill and knowing every retarded reference.
6/10.
Is it standard procedure to shove the one word title in your face at the end of a 2+ hour movie now that Avatar did it?

Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid
nice cast but
i am really starting to think peckinpah is overated
i think if his stuff was more believable it would go along way to giving him more credibility imo

Shutter Island = 6.5/10 - Decent I guess but the editing throughout the film (with the weird cuts and discontinuity between shots) indicated that things were not as they seem and - for me - gave way too many hints that a "twist" was forthcoming.

I agree - I clocked the twists in about 10 minutes of the beginning

Clash of the Titans = 4/10 - TBH...it's better than the original but still a horribly stupid story not worth telling.
Grown Ups = 4/10 - Typical Sandler-style comedy but some truly funny moments.
Hot Tub Time Machine = 6/10 - Pretty funny. Rob Corddry stole the show IMHO.
The Invention Of Lying = 5/10 - Started off ok and turned to shit quite quickly.
Kick Ass = 8/10 - Hilarious. Funniest movie all year.
Yes Man = 4/10 - Give it up, Mr.Carrey...you're not funny anymore.
Repo Men = 7.5/10 - An overall good film but the ending was a cop-out that's been done too many times.
The Karate Kid = 2/10 - There was no reason whatsoever to remake this film and there is no reason whatsoever to watch it. Dreadful.

agreed, though for a rom-com i liked that it had some depth
100% agreed. also probably the only movie i've liked Nick Cage in since Valley Girl.
didn't see it because IT'S NOT EVEN KARATE! sdhjafdkgjhdfgkl. i hope Pat Morita's ghost rapes Jackie Chan in the face with a giant crane kick for being part of this vapid parody. also fuck Michael Bay for Transformers etc etc. fuck them all.

Repo Men - 6.5/10
Hard to believe Tarantino didn't have a hand in this. Oh and it was filmed in Toronto.
