I can't carry "all" of the time. There are simply places that civilians aren't allowed to bring firearms. Though it is humorous that people from other countries automatically think that you have to be afraid of something to carry a concealed firearm. But it's simply not the case. I'm no more worried about something bad happening to me than you are. In fact, I'm likely less worried. However, you guys are free to think what you like.

the .308 round is most commonly used for hunting and sniping. It's a very accurate round for long-distance shooting. Gwamps has basically made himself a sleeping bag-range sniper rifle. So, if he's planning on taking out any deer in his front yard, he's all set. It makes as much sense as putting a scope on a Derringer.

You put a lot of thought into how you could possibly needle me some more in this thread and I'm sure you're proud of your result. But I'm not quite sure (given your military background) how you so easily arrived at this opinion. Though you are correct about the "common" use of .308 ammo. Hunting could never be condidered it's only use. Secondly, you should know that firearms are a lot like cars, trucks, motorbikes, fishing poles, etc. with respect to what task they are built to perform. Not every mustang is a racecar and not every .308 is a long range sniper/hunting rifle. That alone should have been enough to steer you clear of such an assumption without asking/knowing any of the specifics about the rifle. The rifle I bought isn't a hunting rifle. Hell, it's not even considered a long range rifle. My rifle has a 16" barrel with a factory empty weight of 8.3 lbs and with the stock completely retracted it's only 34" long. It's was designed as a compact, light weight, eye sight distance assault rifle. So the EOTech sight system I put on it is perfect for what I bought the rifle for and what the rifle is designed for, a 100 to 200 yard target rifle.

BTW, I've never been hunting, nor do I plan to go.
