what do mods actually do?

everyone is talking about mods but i dont know what mods actually do besides using grapple :icon27:

Hey pompai,
Mods can alter the game in just about any way... add new game modes, levels, even add completely new features like vehicles.
And a tip: try and keep all your little questions into a single topic instead of making all these breakout 'threads'. That way, we can answer all your fairly simple questions and keep the focus on fresh ones

Mods (short for modifications) are made by the general public, and can be entirely new games upon themselves. They can include new items, weapons, characters, enemies, models, modes, textures, levels, and story lines.
Rocket Arena 3,
Threewave,
OSP,

CPMA,

Urban Terror are some of the more popular mods, just to name a few.
