As a Doom 3 map it's not very impressive then. :paranoid:

well, simple geometry, but effective atmosphere.

it could shape up to be really grand.

That's DOOM 3? :dork:

Ummm OK. I was beginning to change my opinion from QUAKE III to QUAKE because of some of its ... older-looking features. Oh goodness.

still not bad, has penty of atmosphere, just missing some of the details you'd expect from something made via doom 3.

I take it you've got an 'uber machine' to play that becasue once you start adding more details to it you'll be kicking most peoples computers in the goolies..!! :p

The lighting is a little off. I know you want to make a bright map, but if you use pointlights for those lamposts and center the original downward, it would look a lot better.

Also, you seem to have a LOT of lights intersecting, and that will kill performance. Try using one light for the sun, and then use the suns position to cast the light in the oposite direction, thus creating a nice sun light, but with minimal lights. The map will look bright, but dim, like a sunset, or dusk.

Try vewing the the iddev readme for info on all sorts fo tricks, or, you can jsut open the "monorail" map from doom 3 and see how they did the lights.

Mix ambient lights with good point light useage and a nice directional sun, and you will be on to a winner.

It's definately a change from the dark d3 stock maps but needs some spicing up. Some round edges would go a long way
