when d3 fortress was started, iirc the guy in lead had no experience modding and no claim to the fortress IP but just wanted to make a fortress mod for d3, put up a website and announced he was doing it, relying on the brand to attract talent. maybe not the case...dont know the guy, and if it works who cares, but i remember kinda seeing it announced a few days after d3 release date was given, reading the base teams' creds and thinking, what right do they have to lay claim to it...'not interested'. i see they are looking for talented developers again...

to be honest that's the only impressive screenshot there.
The rest of the maps look like box shaped rooms connected together.

I have to say i'm with eraser here. That shot only looks ok because it has a random particle effect going in the middle ot make it look a bit more interesting. Everything else looks ported from Quake1/2/3 with no changes hardly, and is just a box map with huge open areas and zero detail.
As for the player models, they look good but they wont look nice at all on a low poly unwrap because they require to many polygons to look good. You should of given yourself a lower target with high poly range.

Decompiled maps

Most of the Maps for this mod are decompiled Q3F/ETF maps anyways.
Nice way to steal other peoples hardwork and call it your own.

that sure does look like a Quake 2 map. Quake 2 had loads of Lava maps.
