I've just installed Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8.
I've only done the first five or six minutes of training but it seems to be doing a fine job recognizing what I'm saying.
It doesn't quite understand how to do my color; but that's OK.
All in all I'm finding this quite interesting. But I'm willing to bet I look like a complete moron sitting here talking to my computer as such.

I hear this latest version is the best commercial speech recognition program on the market. Let it learn your speech for a little longer and it should improve.

Indeed! It does slip up quite a bit from time to time. I have to say "scratch that" or "correct that" and fix the problem accordingly.
It has several training sessions where you read to the computer, I've only been through two of them and it's doing fantastic.
