LCD Probs.

So my dad bought a cheap LCD called Logic which is made Denmark, when I say cheap, it wasn't that cheap just not as expensive as the others. Ok so after about 9 months of use this thing goes blank, I can hear sound but nothing else. I angled it towards a light and saw a very faint picture. So I’m thinking that the backlights have gone, what would cause all 3 backlights to go on an LCD?

No seriously, look on the back of your monitor. Does the power lead go into the monitor, or does it screw in?

Sorry I forgot to say it's a TV, A 3 pronged kettle lead goes to a 12V power adapter and then in to the back of the TV.
